Avid Spar* -
Your frustration in situations where others may have attacked you is understandable, but coming here to say that if we don't step in you're going to fire right back at them really isn't appropriate, nor how the forums are meant to be used.
Its been a bit of an ongoing trend as well over the last few months: reporting a post to FH, then replying to the poster on the thread, often with flamebait, and then reporting the response back, and letting the cycle continue. If anything, it makes situations
more heated
than they need to be.
If I may offer some advice, perhaps it may be a good idea to:
a) Ensure posts are not only on topic, but not baiting some sort of flame response
b) If there is a flame response, report it here
c) After reporting it here, don't respond back at all
By not responding at all, there isn't any additional fuel being added to the fire, situations won't become nearly as escalated as they may have before, and things are more likely to either calm down on their own or just need a gentle push in the right direction.
Not everyone is going to be "right" in terms of their facts 100% of the time, and might not necessarily agree with your opinion on matters. Regardless, its best to respect this and not use it as means for setting up a punching bag of back and forth posts that get more heated than they need to be, then try and get one side's posts removed while yours are of the same nature and would be removed too. Its much easier to simply report and not respond at all, as sometimes in situations like this responding does more harm than good.
