I dislike Titles, but I'll try to remember to change mine before the check tomorrow night... seems very odd that that's the preferred way to verify Maxed status.

Edit: I've gone ahead and changed my picture to show the Max hood, which should be just as quick a check as Title would be if it actually did appear on the forums as the OP seems to indicate. Hopefully that will suffice.

Edit2: Looks like it's taking awhile to upload. If all else fails I'll post again Sunday.
