You presume far too much. Simply because someone hasn't completed Plague's End and gained access to Prifddinas does not mean that they are "newcomers who know nothing of [the] lore." It's very easy to look up a quest and all related information about it. You don't have to do the quest to know what it involves. There are several quests I haven't done, and I am just as versed in the lore as everyone who has a quest cape (and more so than some because not everyone cares about the story).

As an aside - the voting gallery is now OPEN! Share your elfies, and start voting for some of your favourites!
With regards to some of the comments:
1) This is hosted on Woobox because it allows us to store all the images as soon as they're entered into a gallery. If this were done manually, not only would it take a lot longer, but it'd make the competition unfair, because the team can't have their finger on the button 24 hours a day uploading them. Also, we don't have the functionality on the website to host 180+ images on it (the entries so far) and allow people to vote on each one.
2) #LetMeTakeAnElfie is a bit of fun; we could have just called it 'Elf City screenshot competition', but in my opinion this is more fun and engaging.
3) This is competition in line with the opening of Prifddinas. Sorry if this excludes some players, but there will be further competitions across the year aligned with other updates which are more inclusive.
4) It's not a popularity contest. We'll choose two of the winners, and you guys will choose one by voting.
