Truthfully, I'm happy you guys do this sort of thing, but honestly, STOP POSTING IMPORTANT NEWS ON SOCIAL MEDIA INSTEAD OF THE FORUMS!

No need to be passive aggressive about it. Also, if privacy is your concern, you don't have to give facebook any real details, name yourself John Doe if you like. the competition is done through some "sweepstakes" app thing though, which means it would require access to certain info you put on facebook, like email, name age, friends list etc. you'd be giving your email for them the contact you if you win anyway, so that should be a moot point.

And you only have to give a postal address IF you actually do win. by which i'm sure you email jagex directly, so you don't even have to use facebook for that. and you can then easily deactivate your facebook account after it's no longer needed when the competition ends.

Ultimately, it's your choice, i'm just mentioning you can still do it without giving any info over if that's why you don't like facebook.

I see where you are coming from but it's unfortunate for people like Sun Butt and I who do not have a Facebook account due to privacy concerns. Ironically I saw this contest advertised on their G+ page and twitter feed. JaGeX could have easily opened this contest up to users who prefer to use social platforms whether it be because of privacy concerns or not liking the platform.

It is a shame its only based upon Facebook - I understand the need for publicity but they could have added various platforms to widen the entry base (Twitter/YT/Twitch etc)

I bought myself a 900 euro acer laptop before christmas and it has almost the same specs. Mine has i7-4702MQ 2.2-3.2GHz(w/turbo), NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX 760m 2.0 GB GDDR5, Full HD 17.3" Acer ComfyView LCD, 8GB memory DDR3, RPM 5400, 1 Terabyte HDD, 120W power usage.

Mine only has a crappier casing and no backlights, but it can play RS smoothly on max if i take idle animation off. That alienware can also just barely play RS on max setting and forget about HM*L5 beta.

I still entered and hope to have a backup Laptop.
