The whole sixth age is confusing to me

I have always followed Saradomin, but he turned out a bit evil it seemed. So then I slowly went to Guthix, whom Zaros pretty much worshiped. I understand he is the god of balance, but gah! I hate feeling like an evil character when the other side disapproves. But, I do not want to align with Saradomin because he seems like he is part of some underground mafia at night; a church-goer by day
