An MMO competitor named City of Heroes had a similar issue with two heroes that could be designed in their game and were subsequently sued by Marvel Comics for having superheroes that resembled Wolverine and one other Marvel character, upon which, to avoid the costly lawsuit were later pulled from character creation.

While it may seem like a copyright issue, the mythical Nine-tailed fox creature is actually a popular Japanese folk-tale that is used in many movies and games, and anyone who is interested in the fable should be allowed to use the fox however they like. Sega Entertainment does not own all the right to the mythical creature (unless Jagex used Tails the Fox then yes, I can understand the lawsuits).
I know that OKAMI uses the nine-tail fox as a Boss fight half way through the game, while GaiaOnline has their own item of the fox called " Inari's Beads ". None of the mentioned game/community titles have been charged with Intellectual Property Infringement.
To add more to the list, both anime,
Naruto
and
Inuyasha
, have used the foxes too; Kurama in Naruto, and Kilala, the two-tailed fox, in Inuyasha. Both creators did not get charged either
.
Therefore, what Jagex created as a pet in this MMORPG is NOT of any harm. Just wanted to clear the misunderstanding!
Putting that aside, I voted for the Crystal Peacock.
It's elegant, yet delicate, and will be the first crystal pet to appear in the game if it wins.
But the panda... Although it's adorable, I think it's a bit too overrated.

I'd certainly want the Pudding on a plate.
Though, look through the few that were picked - It appears that they're all by detailed artists. Which, I think is a little unfair really. Though, they are all good.

I think it would be awesome to actually have a pet meerkat(s) following you around without having to use the pouch thing
