Selfish, yes.
Why? Because why should the newer generation of players be rewarded with something that has more nostalgia value to players like you or I? I find it quite meaningless if they're rewarded with an emote that they don't understand.

Also, yeah I admit that I'm being a bit harsh.

By that reasoning, people should not visit museums or go to historical landmarks, and children should not be studying history books in school, under the assumption that they won't understand the history because they weren't there.

Also, I would like to point out that the emote will not be a "reward" but will purchased via Solomon's General Store, as seen in the first post of this thread:
