The weapons do have unique uses. They are used in different situations so there is that reason to collect as many of them as I can, variety between players also came in what they could best afford or earn, and you want to replace this with a cosmetic choice making all players the same...
Its really sad that you want to remove all weapon specs to give them to low levels then also suggested in the last Q&A that unique weapon effects could be added as new higher level content as if that makes the current situation better. imo there is still space for current high level gear to keep specs or effects as I suggest in feedback thread ( 299-300-617-64003275 )

Defence doesn't seem much more useful than in live if you don't use a shield, which I've only had to use to switch to for excaliber healing so far.
A better way to limit pures from limiting themselves would be to have defence not effect combat level unless its highest skill, that would mean combat level needing reworked again tho. I will put a suggestion together for this later.
