I'm currently working in the simulation field, modeling/operating underwater ROV's and building complex simulation scenarios for the Oil and Gas industry. Though I have strong aspirations to work in the entertainment industry, having been what I primarily trained for in college.
Not trying to sound like a resume haha, just background info for my question. Currently I use Autodesk 3DS Max and have been classically trained in Softimage XSI.
Q - My question is thus, what software do you primarily use to make your models, and/or rigging/animating? I watched a behind the scenes video and tried to spot the soft-ware one guy was using but I couldn't exactly make it out.
Q - Also If I may be as bold to ask a second question, whats the typical polygon count on an average Runescape character and how does that affect your work-flow. I imagine it must be in your minds to keep it relatively low for the game to process it smoothly though I've noticed a definite increase in complexity in the character meshes over the past couple of years.
