Hadn't planned on posting anything... But after reading all the badmouthing, I figured I'd put this out there, give a boost to anyone Jagex reading this.
It takes a lot of work to produce regular new content. It takes a lot of work to keep such a massive game running smoothly most of the time. It takes a lot of work to constantly keep changing and moving forward.
And we appreciate that.
Sure, not everyone is going to happy with some of the changes. Change is hard for some people. But I play Runescape because I enjoy it, and I'm sure Jagex personnel are game players too- they're out to create a game they think will be fun to play, so I trust their judgement. A game that didn't change and evolve would have fallen into the dust years ago.
I didn't know who George Sampson was... But they could have picked any random player and still had a similar effect- the video wasn't about him, it was about showing the effort and care that Jagex puts into making a fun game.

So, Jagex, don't mind the hate- Your fans are with you, and will continue to be as long as you keep producing the awesome we know and love.

Im sure you have now changed a few peoples minds in what will probably go down in runescape history to be one of the most unwanted updates of all time.
Now you even have a "celeb" backing it, whom which may I add is clearly a noob and didnt even know there was going to be a combat update, yes he really cares about runescape!
What the majority of players out there that you are managing to fool in to this update don't realise, is how much it changes minigames, all the specs on weapons that are going to be lost, all the set effects on gear that will be lost, getting rubbish combat exp from slayer tasks. It feels like your trying to target a new area of client, while alienating your current players with unwanted updates.
Yes the combat needs reworked, is this the best solution you can come up with by by banging all your heads together? I certainly hope not otherwise there really is no hope for the future of this game.

I love how the weekends event was castle wars, which notably used to be one of my favourite minigames until jagex ruined that as well. Now nobody even plays that minigame unless your on a castle wars world. I used to be able to play this every evening on my home world. That minigame is DEAD. Yet another example of Jagex un-needingly reworking old content and failing.
Why do you feel the need to rework things people already loved!!?

Rala Azriel - :( I'm going to cry, your words are righteous. It breaks my heart that everytime I go on the forums all I see with my little eyes are hate,hate,hate,hate.
I've been a loyal player for many years and I had my fair share of updates that I Hate but I still play the game despite that. Your right jagex fans are with them. I still am and will be for a while.
