I'm surprised another one of these 200,000,000 account posts was made. After reading the last one, 90% of the commentary was flaming, and rightly so. This is a mind boggling promotion, one which EVERYONE acknowledges is being entirely inflated by the numbers of bots, recreated accounts, bot farmers and creators everywhere. I have exactly 1 (ONE!) account. I have never been banned, never created another one, no need to.
I am truly saddened all this effort is going into this frivolous promotion with the game situation and the bot situation being completely out of control again. It seems by promoting a 200 million subscriber promotion is validating the bot users and creators and THANKING them for their creations to add to the tally.
None of these threads address the displeasure of the actual community who have one account, and have maintained one account in good standing for many years. It just seems more and more of these things are created against the wishes of the masses without explanation or a true forum to express ones opinions in.
I just cannot understand why Jagex would embrace this 200 million number knowing full well that that number is severely bloated by bots and all sorts of accounts that were created with no real intention of developing them into anything worthwhile. This completely contradicts their position on going "tough" (still waiting on that) position against botting. I mean, you can't have it both ways. Can't support the 200 million accounts and support banning bots from the game. Those two things are completely opposites.
With that said, I see a full court promotion for one of these things and I see nothing on the other. Yeah yeah, I know. The whole "secrecy" line of nonsense. That sounds more like a validation to shut people up while the promotions for this nonsense continue.
Enough said.
Very displeased.

So if three accounts out of 200,000,000 (majority of these accounts being bots) get a lifetime membership who's not to say that all three of the winners aren't users who uses bots? I mean come on, a bot with lifetime membership isn't a good idea.

It means that Jagex aren't doing anything tangible about the myriad of bots, spammers and gold-farmers in their game (apart from take their money).

The time when Jagex addressed their player community's concerns over their updates. Oh wait, that never happened!

I'd like to see Runescape HAVE a future.

No, I won't be putting this in video format - Jagex can make their own adverts.

This is sooo unfair! i live in China, in china i am not allowed to use youtube! Totally not cool jagex! nto only China, but all runescape players in Bahrain, Belarus, Burma, China, Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, and Vietnam the players in these counties cant access youtube either! (not sure about Bahrain and Vietnam)
Anyway...
What does 200million accounts mean to you?
It means that alot of people really like this game, having 200million players on my video game would be such an honor. I think i will celebrate by getting my first 99, (cooking)
What’s your fondest RuneScape memory?
When i was younger (7) i didnt know how to play, so my would get my big brother or my dad to help me play, my big brother and i never really had a good relationship, so i would say i need help with the game just to connect with them.
What content would you like to see in RuneScape’s future?
Hopefully another skill....but make it a hard one, you made Runecrafting and Firemaking soooooo easy. And hopefully, get rid of the ugly f2p melee armour, make it go back to normal! and maybe the old scimitars, those were way cooler looking these new ones.
