Well... I'm guessing the total player base for Runescape is about 10,000,000 players a month, and each of those players gets 2 shots at the squeal of fortune per day, but there's only a 1/4th chance the rune scimitar will appear in one of the thirteen slots, and we're only accounting for one week (6 days) here... so...
R = ((6 x 10,000,000) /13) .5)
R = (60,000,000 / 13) .5)
R = (4,615,384) .5
R = 2,307,692
So my guess is that 2,307,692 players received a rune scimitar as a prize from the squeal of fortune in that week. My math is terrible, but there you go.
