I find this very saddening.
Not only did they waste time developing a silly gimmicky marketing tool to trick f2p'ers into getting membership instead of creating or fixing good content to genuinely attract people;
Not only did they make ultra rare rewards given out solely for luck, with absolutely no component of how hard you try or how good you are at the game;
But now Jagex rub it in to everyone who did*'t get the ultra rarely lucky reward by saying "Oh, and just to make you feel worse, to the already lucky people who got it without doing anything special to deserve it, we're also giving out free membership. GF all you other losers!"
