Although I don't have a working microphone at the moment, this'll be a great excuse to go buy one!
EDIT: anyone know if audacity is free? And if not, any free programs that can save voice to MP3?

Yes Audacity is completely free. You can follow the link on the first page of this thread. Third post I think. Just download it and run.
