Prayer flashing is actually far from bug abuse. It's an element of PvM that's rather popular, and adds more of a challenge to some bosses.
If prayer flashing was truly a bug then JaGex would not be promoting the video, so I think it's safe to assume he used all the legal methods to kill Jad.
