War of The Magi

A war is breaking out in the magical community of Gielinor. After the events of the conclave the community fractured. Word has spread far and wide of a crackdown on dark magicks such as necromancy and ancient magic. This has caused fear and dissent in the community, but likewise many have joined the cause. These mages seek to ban magicks that have often led to disaster and great harm to the world. Preventing incidents such as the Lich Thorvald caused is their prime motivation.

However after the attempted arrest of Magus Concendo a group of mages fighting for the freedom to research and any and all magic has begun to grow. These mages seek for their colleagues to have the liberty to study all magicks for the benefit of the world. Under the leadership of Magus Concendo do these mages hope to fight for a better tomorrow.

To the shock of many present at the conclave a third faction has come from these events. Led by a mysterious mage known as Ahzek Helbrass. Outraged by the restrictions that have come to pass over mages all over the world Ahzek blames the non-mages. Seeking to liberate all magic users Ahzek has pledged to lead an uprising so that mages may rule. But before they can fight the world at large they must take care of those who oppose them in their own community.

Hello everyone! Welcome to the War of the Magi plot! This storyline is open to the entirety of the server. All characters are welcome to join. A few important things to note is that while this plot war is centered around the magical community and while it may have adverse effects on the remaining pok's there will not be any attacking of significance to their lands. Also a few characters in this storyline are plot characters and thus may be considered OP. Please join us for an organic plot experience

Important Info and Rules

You will find important ooc information in this post. Information included ranges from who are the plot organizers to major rules.

Magicks : We will be accepting custom magicks within reason. Examples being: Vekonic Blitzen = Ok Time Travel Magic= Not Ok

Plot Characters : There are characters and creatures with a certain degree of "plot armor" and general op powers present. Deal with it. These are your boss encounters.

POK's : We aren't here to steal your pixels. We aren't here to destroy your land. If you wish for major events to take place in your more populated areas let us know. This plot is aimed at the magical community and may adversely effect you. If you wish to get involved let us know, but please no strings attached.

Races : Yes we will accept your icyene and mahj. However, we do not want this event flooded with mahjarrat and please do not take this as an opportunity to flex your ego. Some events will have "op" races barred from participation.

Game Masters : The GM's word is law. If you cannot adhere to the GM of an event then please do not join. Trust that our GM's will be neutral. We only want to tell a fun story. However we will not manipulate the outcome of the events.

Events : If anyone would like to host an event please approach any of the plot organizers. We are not the only ones who can host things!

Plot Organizers : Kahuna_Khaji, DormamMagus, Lady Thalia, Eli (If you have any issue with a plot organizer at an event feel free to let any one of us know. We want your experience to be a good one. We promise to leave our biases at the door.)

Ordo Magi

Led by Ahzek Helbrass the Ordo Magi have formed to lead magi to their rightful place above the magically inept. Their message is being spread by enchanted fliers and summoned imps. Ahzek is calling all mages of every creed to join the Ordo in freeing magi from the shackles of a world that would restrict and ban magicks. Justice must be done for crimes against the superior magi. Vengeance must be had for all imprisoned mages and for the rune crusades. We must lead the world to a better magical future.

Before we can enlighten the world to the ways of magic we must first deal with the dissenters in our community. Those who would shackle their brethren must bend the knee or be punished. Freedom is just over the horizon.

Leader of the Ordo Ahzek Helbrass : Ahzek is a mysterious mage who claims to have come from the golden age of Crandor. Accused of being a demon summoner, she has formed the Ordo to start a revolution. Her abilities are largely unknown and her opponents foolishly believe it to be simple demon magicks. Many will come to find this mage as cruel and unrelenting. Though she might seem like a kind prophet to the magically talented youth.

Magi De Jure

The Magi of the Law, or Magi de Jure, are a group of Magi and Wizards who are against the practice of certain forbidden arts. Much of their force is devout Saradominists, Armadyleans, and Guthixians, though any who oppose Necromancy and Demon-summoning are welcomed. That said, their jury is still out on Ancient Magic.

Key parts of the Magi De Jure are the Crusaders Magia, a group of Wizards and Spellswords who actively fight Demons, Undead, and their supporters for penance in the eyes of the Gods, led by Fleur D'Asgarn(Mudbrain),
The Inquisition, led by the Bishop of Falador.(Aromancer)
And the traditionalist Guthixian faction, spearheaded by Ekaterina Renderra.(Lady Thalia)

While not nessacerily in favour of harsher laws, the Magi De Jure are interested in keeping these laws the way they are, without changing them to be less strict. In retaliation for the backlash of the magical community, however, the more radical members of the group seek to make the laws stricter, and more strictly enforced to punish the Dark Magi who stand against them.

The Coalition

A loose coalition of Magical Families, lone mages, and those targeted by the Magi De Jure has come together under the leadership of Magus Concendo. They are united in a belief that the Magi De Jure and Inqusition have overstepped and their intrusion cannot be allowed to stand. They did not seek to fight and did not provoke the war but now that it has been brought to them they intend to win

Coalition Leader : Magus Concendo: Master Runecrafter and (while no one quite knows why) respected leader of the Magical community. Long driven by the belief that the Magical Community is strongest when it is autonomous Magus has long opposed any attempts to regulate or license the magical community. Normally he'd not be driven to violence but the intrusion by Icyene into the Tower and his unwanted criminal status has forced him to take a side. Magus, believing the inquisition to be the opening shot in a larger war against those that oppose Saradomin, has gone all in choosing to gather his allies and a few enemies to make a stand. If for no other reason than somone must.
