Guildmaster

The Guildmaster serves as the leader of the Thieves Guild. Keeping their identities anonymous or publicly available is at the discretion of the Guildmaster. Their typical duties include overseeing the Guild's revenue, negotiating capers, recruitment, administrative organizing, and administering punishment to rogue thieves.

Chief Thief

Each area of influence has a district (city, town, village, etc.) where a Chief Thief is assigned to act as the head of operations within that district. Chief Thieves fall directly under the Guildmaster in the Guild hierarchy and act as extensions of the Guildmaster's authority in their respective districts.

Master Thieves

Although it's encouraged to follow the Character Path for character development to the rank of Master Thief, it's neither necessary nor enforced. Master Thieves are specialists and trusted to conduct the big time heists and capers. Anyone considered a master thief within the Guild's area of influence should register with the Guild to avoid being targeted by Guild Members. Just as guilds are meant to monopolize on craftsmanship in certain areas, so does the Thieves Guild when it comes to thievery.

Apprentices

Apprentices are orphans, beggars, scammers, and the pups of the Thieves Guild. Their role is to serve Master Thieves on their endeavors and develop their skills as thieves before ascending to Master Thief. Some apprenticeships last several months and some stubborn, older folks have been known to continue their apprenticeships well into their elderly years. The torch is in your alley at how fast you progress through the Guild.

Roles

Roles within the Guild may vary by passion. For example, shop owners that are fences or sharpers for the Guild are designated safe places and should neither be harmed nor robbed. The Guild may also employ blacksmiths, fletchers, architects, assassins, or even archaeologists.

Individuals affiliated with the Guild, whatever their role, will be issued a single chime. Chimes are imported from the Wushanko Isles specifically because of their rarity and for the reason that they cannot be recreated within mainland western Gielinor. Chimes assist newer Guild members with networking amongst one another and for shop owners, ensure that the Guild will not interfere with their place of business.

Fences

Fences are black market profiteers that may be under the Guild's employ. Fences are the best option for the Guild to get rid of their stolen items for profit. Shop owners registered as fences under the Guild are designated safe locations and can be used to each member's discretion. Fences are protected by a monthly 10% tax.

Sharpers

Sharpers are shop owners or stall merchants that convince individuals to part with their valuables either for collection or personal profit. Sharpers can typically be found in the main squares of major cities or towns trying to swindle the valuables of individuals. Usually they will try to make a deal, whether fair or not, or even pay if they retain an honorable reputation.

Enforcers

Enforcers can be anyone that's hired as muscle for the Guild. Enforcers can be guards, bouncers, outlaws, marauders, or allied gangs. The Guild has shady alliances with roving bands of outlaws in the countryside of some kingdoms, utilizing these individuals for debt collections outside of main hubs. Inside districts, enforcers may act as debt collectors and encouraged to bribe the local guard force to turn a blind eye.

Recovering Heirlooms

Thanks to the thieves who meddled in the Archaeology Guild's research, we've recovered the journal of Guildmaster Daiyren and the location of various artifacts once belonging to the Guild in the Third Age.

Recover Zarosian artifacts on behalf of the Guild and you will be immensely rewarded. Speak to the Guildmaster in the Blue Moon Inn for more information.

Gilded Bloomers

Royalty has been trouble for us since the end of our golden age. During the reign of Queen Karma in Misthalin, a pair of bloomers were stolen and hoisted above the city on a flagpole.

Continue stealing the undergarments of royalty and rulers, displaying them high above the city of their domain to gain renown and dabs with the guild members.

What's in your Pocket?

Despite our successes in various rackets, the Thieves Guild respects and admires their humble origins as petty pickpockets.

Pickpocket five patrons in the bar and produce your loot to the Guildmaster for reward or renown.

Support Local Businesses

The Thieves Guild employs sharpers and fences to put our pilfered findings on the market and compensate us for our risks. Ensuring the survivability of the guild with the local populace rests on upholding our bargain with these market leeches.

Sell some of your stolen goods to a local fence to gain renown and compensation from the Guild.

Diplomacy

Due to the recent archaeological discoveries of the relationship between our Thieves Guild and the
Zarosian Empire
during the Second Age, thieves are allied with Azzanadra's faction and the Silhouette network. The alliance with the Zarosians benefits thieves by giving them safe passage or harboring in Zarosian locations.

Rival guilds can mean bad business for those in the vicinity of their conflict. When the
Archaeology Guild
was introduced at the Digsite, this afforded thieves the opportunity to steal coveted ancient items and trinkets. Now, after the attack on the Archaeology guildhall during the Battle of the Monolith, the thieves must continue pressuring the archaeologists whilst they try to defend their field.

Areas of Influence

Although the Thieves Guild has a global reach, the area's of influence are defined as hotspots and focal points for the Guild. If you'd like the Guild to find you, simply ask!

Misthalin

The Guild's primary area of influence is the Kingdom of Misthalin. Due to the Guild's origins in this part of the world, they've decided to rebuild and regain control over the kingdom's underground market. After proving themselves as capable rivals to the gang's in the city and taking the Blue Moon Inn for themselves, the Guild has gained a considerable reputation in the kingdom.

Menaphos

Chief Thief Cyraq is looking for a new headquarters in Menaphos where the Guild can rebuild and begin to operate. Find him in the main square of the city for more information!

Arilia

As the Guild begins to spread their influence farther from Misthalin, a pirate lord named Josael has agreed to bring some of the Guild's thieves to Arilia, hopeful that they can join in the thriving new port's success.
