A folded letter finds its way to the desk of Syndic Garner delivered by a Swordpoint messenger. The letter is sharply folded and not a wrinkle in sight. It is sealed by red wax, stamped by the Swordpoint icon and smelling faintly of Tamitha's chrysanthemum perfume.

Dearest Oswald,

Here it is. With my messenger's armed escort is a chest of 150,000 Varrock minted coins. As we have discussed, we will move our camp to the confines of the town and quarter some of the now-abandoned buildings and erect some more permanent lodgings as soon as our constructors arrive.

Let this serve as a written reminder that though Swordpoint recognizes the Peasant Republic of Draynor as a sovereign state being our county of residence, Swordpoint does not, nor will ever claim the land of Draynor as our land. We have no obligations to defend the soil or its people, unless bound by a future contract. That being said, I hope our residency may be mutually beneficial in every other aspect.

Should you have any questions or concerns, you know where to find me.

Signed,
T. Volt

An envelope arrived at the place which official correspondence might be expected so that it may reach the desk of the Syndic of Draynor, as it was specifically addressed to the man from the Grand Republic of Varrock, and its Grand Chancellor herself. Its seal, as usual, was emblazoned with the eagle of the Lavelle family, wings spread and talons clenched. Opening the envelope, the letter inside was written in delicate handwriting:

"Oswald Garner, Syndic of Draynor,

As the oldest and most esteemed of the three great lands, Misthalin has seen the rise of many empires and kingdoms throughout recorded history; from the prestigious Royal House of Lansing to the dreaded Worshippers of the Dragonkin. However, Misthalin's greatest strength is not its thrones, nor its many queens, but its people, whose fearless resistance and extraordinary pride gave them the unparalleled strength and devotion which liberated Varrock from vampyric occupation and drove the Worshippers back into the desolate wasteland from where they had come. So when the time for change comes, the people of Misthalin are the first to rise up and enact it.

Our two republics are the greatest examples of recent time where the passion of our people has shown itself, in order to create governments for the people, and by the people. As their chosen representatives and respective leaders of our realms, I would like to request the opportunity to meet you in person so that we may discuss the relations of our nations going forward, and reach the most agreeable terms on how we are to proceed as neighbors. It is my hope that taking this journey to your republic will allow me to learn more about your people and your government, rather than allow it become contorted in hearsay.

My hope, Oswald Garner, is that we should compromise to the benefit of Misthalin as a whole, and set the foundations for our successors to build upon for decades to come.

Whispers on the streets of Draynor shuffle in and out as it has been noticed that quite a few people have went missing between the day and before it. Rumors of rattles in the streets and of peoples dead relatives seeming alive and rotting. Whatever is happening seems to be happening in frequency.
