Pressure. The weight of the situation is maddening.

A sea of people, pushing, pulling, clawing, and climbing on and over eachother from the Grave. Every last instinct makes the Wight shudder in fear and dread. She cuts her arm, letting rotten blood flow, to find which way up is. Many others bury themselves deeper and deeper in the bodies as they try and escape. Not this one. Freedom. Harmony.

She crawls to the top, seeing the dead about going absolutely mad, rushing through the city of Varrock. Was this home?

No, she thought, home is long gone.

''Welcome to New Varrock'' said one sign, statues of Zemouregal erected about the city, even as the dead now destroyed them in sheer rage. The Wight's mind drifted, and she wondered what made her return.

She looked her arms over. That old scar on her left forearm, the distinct, Jagged S, carved by Aldaren in what felt like a century before remained. She had but a vague memory of the scar, feeling mostly shame and guilt as she saw it. But something new rested over her left breast. A circular scar, where the heart should be. She gripped her chest, feeling nothing.

...Heavens. I'm already dead.

Something in her snapped. Some rage, hatred for what she was now, but... No understanding of why.

The Sea of Dead parted, as a large man clad in heavy Dragonhide approached. He spoke gutteral, as the bare-bodied wight felt flashbacks of more rage. A slight fear and fervour to her fighting, but the man proved to be a far more competant fighter. If one this tall could be a man. ''My Lady... I found you at last.''

The Wight was snatched, whisked away in a teleport.

Skipping along in a brand new, fine silken dress, ruffled and with bows, a dollfaced woman with a permanent grin was singing, weaving through the Shadow Realm of New Varrock to her tune, picking all the choice bits of loot.

''All these fickle beasts
Heaven hath rejected, lapping
Glory from our teats
Each of them is tested, blessed
Cast out for your sin
Come here for redemption

We've got grace for cheap,
We've got grace for cheap!''

Was it recruitment? Sheer insanity? The woman skipped, pale skin, glowing green eyes, and dyed blonde hair curled to a prim, noble look. Even the hungry dead knew to avoid her. Something felt too... Off.

''Tongues, tongues,
Slither in the mud, slither in the mud,
Slither in the mud;
That's how a carnival grows, my son.
That's how a carnival grows.''

A kick to a Wight sent it tumbling back down the pile. Too weak for her lady.

''Tongues, tongues,
Slither in the psalms, slither in the psalms,
Slither in the psalms, that's how a carnival grows, my son.
That's how a carnival grows!''

Shadows coalesced. A dark, undead woman with shriveled, corrupted skin focused her gaze on the Dollfaced Woman. Finally, she spoke. ''Deborah, dearie. It's time to go. The Gravelord calls us.''

''Mommy, can I stay a little longer? Pleeeeeeease? I'm having so much fun!''

''No.''

''...Can I finish my song at least?''

The Lich rolled her eyes, gripping at her forehead. "On the way there.''

''Fa la la, it's off to hell we go.''~ Deborah shoved a hand in the Puppetmaster's, grinning wide-eyed as she skipped through the portals.

What a beautiful world for her to play in!

OOC Information:

What is this exactly? It is a Dimension of Disaster Semi-Sandbox.

Why Semi? It can still be considered canon, but aside from some possible ending details, will in no way have any effect on RP in our normal, not Hellscape dimension.

It will be very Soulsy. As in, similar to Dark Souls in tone, and even in account for what you play as a character. Wights risen by one of the many Necromancers, who are now on a quest for revenge as the control over them slips.

You will die. You will die repeatedly. And keep coming back. Eventually it might drive your character outright insane, and lead to their demise.

In this sandbox, antagonists from any plot I have ever done serve as both allies AND enemies. Even some who were heroes and anti-heroes fell to the path of villainy.

It isn't just me though! Meet your other GMs:

Livvi | Hobie | Baldor

So what is happening exactly? This RP takes place a bit after the events of Dimension of Disaster. Arrav and the Adventurer freed Varrock, and many of the dead there passed on. There is a scramble among other Evildoers to maintain power, as rebellions spike up. Many mass graves are dug, to contain rebellious bodies of undead.

You survive, clawing your way out of the dead as control from one of these Necromancers slips. Without gear, or much memory, your character (either an Old main, current character, or a brand new one) must figure out who they are, and sate their newfound hunger for revenge. It is a dish best served cold, and who better than the stone cold undead to deliver it to their tormentors?

Applications:

Character name / Class (type of combat/ character) / Grave Site

Personality:

Alignments: (To factions/areas)

Equipment: (Starting gear will be iron tier or lower. This is a crapsack world, so nobody is running away with steel from their grave. Looters got to you.)

Abilities: (Amnesia will cut back on ability to cast magic well. You can relearn and reobtain expertise as the character progresses. Nothing above strike spells, or level 20 or so prayers.

This story focuses extensively on Wights. Living survivors are not common.

Survivors, as a result, are GM played.

Baddies can be GM played for bosses, or be antag versions of an existing character.

Gravesites

The ''Spawn'' area for our Wight Heroes, or Villains. These mass graves were dug for the rebellious dead, those who dared act against the new Order of the World.

Some, like the New Varrockian Grand Graveyard, have risen to an easier status with Zenouregal's rule gone, and the city long empty. Characters starting in Varrock will find gear quickly.

Some, like the Asgarnia grave site, are still surrounded by enemies with a small safe haven. This haven is the goal to reach to survive.

The Kandarin Gravesite is similar to Asgarnia, in that it is open and accessible.

Rising in Rellekka? There is no safe haven, until you hit Seer's Village. A long and arduous journey through wild lands, running from wild creatures.

Finally, the worst place to spawn. The Wilderness. A hellhole grave in the center of three, horribly difficult fighters. But... Somehow not as difficult as it may seem.
