Character's small summary: Silas was born in Draynor Village and grew up on a farm with his mother, father and older brother. His mother died from an ailment that was easily curable, but the family lacked funding for medicine at the time. This event shaped Silas' life drastically, inspiring him to learn all he could about plants, crops and herbs. His brother left for Port Sarim when Silas was 12 so that he could make his fortune as a merchant sailor as to bring more money to the family's homestead. Silas worked the fields with his father, toiling in the summer sun and the chill of autumn rains to bring crops in and keep food on the table. At 14, Silas' brother disappeared along with the ship he was stationed with when it was lost at sea. Silas asked his father if he could study botany and herbs with the druids in Taverly to perhaps make some extra coin, but his father refused, as he had already lost one son and there was no one else to help with the farm. Upon reaching his 16th birthday, Silas' father presented him with an old straw hat that belonged to his father as a young man, an iron knife and a backpack made from leather and canvas and told him to seek out a retired monk in the area so that he could learn how to defend himself from anyone while he was out adventuring. After a touching farewell, he began his journey. Over 30 years later, Silas is now an experienced botanist, farmer and apothecary and does his best to help those in need of his expertise.
