King Nicholas of Varrock is getting married to Miranda Lansing, formerly known as the Queen Essiandar of Misthalin!

Invitation is exclusive to the royal family, the court and the nobility of the realm. Citizens of Varrock will be permitted access, though no weapons will be allowed inside.

Sickness in the Slums

An explosion felt across Varrock marked the beginning of new chaos in Varrock; then, as gas gushed out of the site of the eruption, nestled deep within the slums on the south side of the city, holy men from the Church and soldiers of the Royal Guard's infantry, medical and magical divisions marched towards the scene with orders from the King. Effective immediately, a ward was established to stop the spread of noxious gas which had grown to encompass the slums over an hour. As the situation developed to include the diffusion of reported disease, the King declared a new state of emergency and a quarantine over the southeast section of the capital city; makeshift checkpoints and clinics are established on entryways into this section to ensure that the sickness is contained in the area of its origin.

As of now, the situation remains stable but consistent reports of disease and the woes of those held within the quarantine flow into the Royal Court. It remains unclear what happens beyond the barriers, but it is thanks to quick action by witnesses of the originating event that the Royal Guard and Church of Varrock was able to respond so swiftly to the calamity. Sickness in the Slums: An Update

Several days after the explosion and subsequent quarantine in the slums, the number of healers, priests and soldiers of the realm dressed in black and gray protective gear and masks would steadily increase in order to treat the infected, bury the dead and reestablish law and order within the quarantined area of the city. Over time, the restricted area would begin to shrink as people were allowed more and more into what was once blocked off by the King's authority. The makeshift clinics and checkpoints saw less and less from within, so they began to be disassembled. Eventually, a temple, the point of the explosion's origin, remains the only structure restricted from public access. An investigation into the explosion, and the subsequent diffusion of sickness, has been opened by decree of the King with new, substantial evidence of foul play. However much of this case remains a mystery to Varrock, for now. Hi, I'm Dan.

Type of Hunt: Uuuuhhhhh, Monster Hunt.
Group or Individual's Hunt?: Either.
Target: A large, stone Golem; without a master, it has begun roaming the lands, mindlessly attacking both man and beast and destroying property. It need not be destroyed, as it may be repurposed to constructive means.
Location: Last seen roaming within the Varunwood; should make for an easy trapping and defeat, with minimal to no casualties.
Reward: No reward will be given if the Golem is damaged beyond repair. However, if delivered in good condition, each individual that participated will receive a generous bounty of 1200 gold pieces.

Head of the house's name: Roddick Delmoran

House sigil/colors: A scarlet longsword on a royal blue field.

House properties/titles: Delmoran Estate (Leptoc Manor outside west gate)

Other: Roddick is the old Lord of the once prosperous merchant family and plans to leave the estates to his spoiled daughter rather than his estranged eldest son after his passing. The Delmoran's are of minor nobility and have served the city of Varrock for many years. They forfeited merchanting in the Fifth Age to work closely with the royal family and city administration in order to keep their elevated status.
