A Year In Rural Sarimia

Hey there, welcome to my humble little forum thread. A Year in Rural Sarimia (AYRS) is a roleplay that will be running for the duration of this December. From December 1st to 31st, I plan on hosting a roleplay almost every day. Many will be casual affairs set in the little hamlet of Selsbury (landscaled Rimmington) but there will be opportunities for adventure and a little bit of intrigue as well. The idea is that each participant will create a villager character and simulate a year in their lives throughout the month. Also- don’t be afraid to develop your own plots and host your own events in this roleplay, it’s encouraged!

Another primary goal is to host a safe space for roleplay that is active and welcoming. I have seen some honestly appalling behavior on 42 and it will absolutely not be tolerated here.

Selsbury

Selsbury is a tiny community in Sarimia. Laws are enforced by a minor Asgarnian official known locally as the governor (position currently vacant). The place doesn’t get very many visitors, so their primary method of obtaining gold to pay their taxes is by way of a travelling merchant that visits periodically (OOC’ly, the merchant is my character and will visit almost every day).

Several years ago Selsbury was pillaged by the Kinshra during a larger torch and burn operation. The local Saradominist church was burned down and has yet to be reconstructed, so religious folk have to travel many hours to attend mass.

Property

While Selsbury is landscaled, what you see in-game is more or less what you get. The NPC’s aren’t there and the interiors of the buildings might be different, but there really are only nine buildings. If your character doesn’t live in one of these buildings, they don’t live in ANY building. In Selsbury at least.
