The Oath of the Imperial Guard is to be taken most seriously, and one does not simply back out of it. To be released from this oath you must appeal directly to the Lord Marshal of the Imperial Guard.


“I vow to you, King Varis, as King and Autocrat of the Asgarnian Kingdom, loyalty and bravery. I vow to you and to the leaders that you set for me, absolute allegiance until death.”

The Lord Marshal and his subordinate officers (Majors and Lieutenants) are addressed as sir. Sergeants are addressed as Sergeant. Corporals are addressed as Corporal. Guardsmen are Guardsmen.


+| Lord Marshal
The head of the Asgarnian Imperial Guard, and its representative on the War Council. He commands and organizes Asgarnia's land forces to his design, and to protect the people of the Empire.

+| Major
Commanders over the various companies of the Imperial Guard, they hold seniority over all other members bar the Lord Marshal, and organize their companies to fit his specifications.

+| Lieutenant
Lieutenants assist commanders in the day-to-day operations of Imperial Guard companies, and do a great deal of face-to-face work with the men.

+| Sergeant
Sergeants are NCOs, leading squads for particular troop movements in operations. Hardened, experienced and trustworthy, they both the cement and the grit of the Guard.

+| Corporal
Corporals take the first step into the structure of the leadership. They work with the sergeants to organize squads, and can lead guard patrols and minor operations.

+| Guardsman.
Guardsmans are the majority of the soldiers of the army. Having completed their training as conscripts, they are professional soldiers.

+| Conscript
The rank given to recruits and drafted levymen, they are either in the process of becoming professional soldiers, or being thrown straight into the meat grinder!
