Introduction


There has been recent a surge of Goblin related attacks and Monstrous beings pillaging the humans of Misthalin. The H.A.M Organization has decided to publicly defend Misthalin in respect to their beliefs. In such a time of crisis and confusion, the initial plan to have H.A.M Emissary: Joshua Gates, accompanied by his courier to the Centers of Misthalin: Varrock, Lumbridge, Draynor, Edgeville and Gunnarsgrunn has been cancelled. There was no time, and with little chance of surviving the entire trip; H.A.M’s Lore Keeper decided in concordance with their council-members: “The best route is to arrive in the jolly nick-o’-time.” -Peter Gorthrope- Lore Seeker. And so the orders were drafted. Letters and couriers sent across Misthalin to those in the group for a meeting. Such a meeting so large hadn’t been conducted since before the arrival of Lord Saradomin. Mission clear: A Militia Force would be trained in the arts of combat by a Slayer Master. One that currently presided in their ranks and was now called upon to once more bear arms. This woman left her sword to rust in the darkness after the failures of purifying the Dorgeshuun from Lumbridge. Now Temara is called again to combat. Tasked with the mass training of the existing para-military H.A.M force. Their old weapons and leather bodies had to be upgraded. With the wealth stowed away for a “rainy day”, much convincing, discussing and pleading: Tara was granted the refurbation of H.A.M’s militiamen.

Iron Armor and a mixture of Steel/Iron weaponry. Good enough to slay and protect from Goblins. A good 12 long weeks of attacks. The Local Guards lacking the manpower to deal with the Goblins and internal affairs. Recent Failures of Varrock’s Military at Gunnarsgrun only cemented H.A.M’s resolve: they were needed. At the 14th week, H.A.M’s Military Force was ready to strike back. Their swords sharpened, colors embroidered and their hoods lifted.

A dimly lit room adorned with the banners of H.A.M, members of the Council gathered onto a long hand-crafted table. Before them stood the Master Trainer and her Courier. “My Lords, our scouts to the North report failures of Varrock’s Military to protect Gunnarsgrun. Goblins now occupy human-controlled land; speculation grows their desire is to turn Gunnarsgrun into a staging area for an assault on either Edgeville or Western Varrock.” The newer council-members grumbled lightly to one another, perhaps coming to the conclusion Goblin’s lacked enough intelligence to mount such a coordinated offensive. But the elder Council-Members knew, their war against the Dorgeshuun proved the intelligence of their adversary: The Cave Goblins of Dorgesh-Kaan. “How unfortunate for the Kingdom of Varrock, does King Nicolas sit idle on these attacks?” An interjection from the Lore Seeker. “My Lord, reports are the presiding force meant to defend Gunnarsgrunn had been annihilated at the battle. Word from our scouts they mean to mount a counter-offensive, but their timing hasn’t been the best, Soldiers garrisoned in the various portions of Misthalin had to be recalled, leaving Draynor to fend for itself.” Quite a large report, Tamara kept her tone stern adding emphasis on the failures of Varrock. “You’ve made your point. Perhaps the Goblin Force has outmatched our Varrokian neighbors; and you propose we branch out, and allow me to borrow a Seer’s inner eye for a moment: You want us to grant you full reign of our newly formed Militia force to spearhead this counter-offensive.” Stated Lord Gurthrope with an air of satisfaction.

“That was one route, but yes.” Tamara didn’t like having her intentions read like an open book. “Relax my child; your shall we say “future” plans had already been prepped. I need only draft the orders now. As for the lead, you Tamara will act as the Military Advisor to one of our Lords, and march from here in 10 days with our forces, taking the path through Draynor to the flank of Gunnarsgrunn, perhaps we can ambush them at night. Otherwise, I give the presiding Lord authority to change based on the situation.” His words flowed with uncertainty yet resolve. “Yes My Lord.” Tamara had no choice, she’d rather lead the expedition herself, but her rank didn’t allow it, yet. “Dismissed.” Spoken from the lips of all the Council Members unanimously. With a bow and spin of the heel, Tamara went to brief the troops.

New Blood: Tier 1: Newest members to H.A.M. (Called Brother/Sister)

Acolyte: Tier 2: Learning the ropes of H.A.M, taken under guidance by a Lore Master of H.A.M. (Called Brother/Sister)

Neophyte: Tier 3: Near the end of Induction, Understands H.A.M and its functions. (Called Brother/Sister)

Courier/Apprentice: Tier 4: Same level of rank, Apprentices are chosen at the Courier level by a Master of any Branch to learn under them. Couriers if not chosen go about their business: They Execute and Carry out Orders from Lords. (Called Elder Brother/ Elder Sister).

Master: Tier 5: An Apprentice or Courier recognized to be proficient in their skill. Usually an Apprentice will become appointed as a Master before a Courier, but each are Masters in their concurrent Spheres. (Called Father/ Mother)

Lore-Keeper: Tier 6: Second to the Lord, serves as the Lord’s advisor in each respective Sphere: Oversees the Masters, Couriers, Apprentices, Neophytes, Acolytes and New Bloods. Responsible for dealing out punishment. (Called Elder Father/ Elder Mother).

Lord: Tier 7: Master of their Sphere, drafts orders and oversees productions in each sphere. There is one Lord per sphere with one being the exception. They have absolute Authority over their members. (Called Priest/Priestess). While there are three Spheres. The Sphere of Councilors has 5 Lords, kept at that number to keep each other in check. A total of 7 Lords serve on the Council. To become a Lord, a decade of membership is required. This is the only tier that requires Time in Service.

Spheres of Influence


Sphere of Councilors: The most prestigious sphere to be involved with, this particular Sphere engages in the Politics within the H.A.M Cult itself, drafting new doctrines, refurbishing older doctrines based on a democratic voting system within the Council since the betrayal of Sigmund, it was deemed too risky to give one member too much authority. Currently 5 Lords from this Sphere serve as Councilors each with their own Lore-Keeper. They are the deciding factor in each vote, control the treasury, responsible for gathering funds and the future of H.A.M.


Sphere of Librarians: Tasked with the more mundane works of H.A.M, the Librarians are tasked with keeping the historical doctrines and texts safeguarded in a vault underneath Lumbridge. Their ranks consist of scribes, couriers, messengers, One Lore-Keeper and one Lord oversee the process.


Sphere of Military/ Law and Justice: Tasked with the defense of H.A.M and now refurbished with proper training, the premier fighting force of the Cult: Recently tasked with the eradication of Surface Goblins from the Lands of Misthalin. Overseen by a Lord, a Lore-Keeper and Master-Trainer. This Sphere usually contains those most proficient in combat, or have prior experience in combat or monster fighting, slayers are preferred, but everyone and anyone willing to join this Sphere will be trained accordingly. Law and Justice is conjoined with the Military and works within the H.A.M base/ranks to keep the order, peace and integrity of the group: a Lore-Keeper presides over this sector, the recent Lord having vanished months prior and with no one qualified to take the job.
