Sorry I've not been on lads, laptop unexpectedly crashed on Friday night and won't turn back on. Put it in for repairs, seems it's a hardware issue, and am just waiting to get it back.

You were gone? Hadn't even noticed.

There was an air of expectancy over Edgeville; a tense silence that left the whole town in nervous suspense. The beating of hooves seemed to be the only disturbance to the hush, accompanied infrequently by the clinking of chain and metal on anxious bodies.

Since the main Kinshra force has abandoned the town days prior, the remaining garrison had awaited their orders with cool professionalism. Though now as the elite knight Owain rode to the centre of town on his destrier, the nervousness was setting in.

Owain’s eyes scanned the eager pale faces peering from behind darkened helmets towards him. Each man was awaiting his fate in that moment, would they stand here and fight and likely die? Or would they escape at the mercy of their commanders. How much were they valued?

‘I have our orders.’ He called out, loud and clear as he rode up and down the lines of the assembled garrison. His eyes moved from his man to man, before falling to the local populace who peered nervously from their homes.

“We burn it all.”

And just like that, the world turned from a still silence to the screams of chaos.
In the hours to follow the peaceful town of Edgeville, which had for so long avoid the plague of war and strife the world was so constantly thrown into, received the full wrath of a disgruntled Kinshra Commander.

Each and every building was burnt to the ground; the citizens were dragged from their homes and butchered mercilessly. When there was nought but charred ruins left, the few survivors were hoisted crucified onto large beams of wood strewn with carved Zamorakian symbols. They would tell the tale. If they survived.

As the column marched west as commanded, they left behind a scene of horror. The land had been salted and cursed, with so many innocent lives sacrificed upon it to aid the wicker spirits.

The Kinshra could not hold the town, and it was time for William Skeat to turn his eyes towards home – and every man was needed.
We come here with no peaceful intent, but ready for battle, determined to avenge our wrongs and set our country free.

Sir Seff Farrigan, Knight of the Round Table, or the Red Rider, some called him, urged his red-skinned warhorse to the edge of the woods just south of Edgeville when scouts reported the smoke.

The Royal Asgarnian army of King James II had been camped outside Edgeville for nearly a week now, preparing to deliver the killer assault to the Kinshra. King James' uncle, King Rhames of Camelot, had sent a Red Banner detachment to aid Asgarnia in their war against the Kinshra. The Red Rider was in command of that legion and, by chance, he was the first to react when signs of smoke were reported.

In fear that the Kinshra were preparing an assault of some sort, the Red Rider rallied the small detachment of the Red Banner cavalry in preparation to defend the potential attack. However, the Kinshra did not come for them - instead, the Red Banner spied the Black Knights flying up to their fort, black dapples on the pale grassy landscape.

"They're fleeing, sir," Seff's squire reported with a shocked expression. "The town - they've razed it."

Seff's heart slowed for a moment as Edgeville burned before him at the bottom of the hill and Skeat's Kinshra fled like rogue particles of the thick columns of smoke.

"Sir ... " the squire prompted. "Wh-what should we do?"

Seff glanced behind him. The hundred riders of the Red Banner were ready and mounted, prepared to fend off the possible Kinshra assault while the rest of the Asgarnian army readied itself for battle. But now ... there would not be a battle, but Seff's heart drummed in his chest all the same.

"Squire," he said, the situation rendering him short of breath. "Tell King James to follow at once. We occupy the town!"

And then, with his flaming-star banner of Camelot held high, Sir Seff Farrigan led the Red Banner detachment into Edgeville.

The Asgarnian army poured down the hill after him, like a raging river smashing through a dam.

Nervously, Lance Corporal Leopold "Leo" Addams approached the centre of his regiment's command. The Viceroy Lancers, 3rd (Southern) Regiment of Horse housed its brains within a striped blue and gold textile parachute, wherein Lord Franz Victor Grey oversaw the regiment's administrative and strategic affairs. They had been camped betwixt the Camelite regiments and the Monastery, towards the front of the encampment, throughout the siege. Being prepared as the front line of the breach assault, they were one of the first to receive the news from the Camelite scouts - the Kinshra were retreating, and Edgeville was burning.

The tent guardsmen, alert to trouble at hand, were stood to attention. Recognising the Lance Corporal from his many visits to the command tent, he was charged with reporting duty for the scouting squadrons, they did not request anything of him. Leo pulled aside the heavy, cobalt drape which concealed the tent's innards and entered. He stood into a room of hazard, with men dashing about preparing the command for battle. Lord Franz Victor stood centre in the room, with the others stood around the table before him. It was a comical sight, to be sure, the regiment colonel and his aides barking at the men suiting them, and the colonel barking tactical jargon at his aides. Before them, on the table, was an assortment of the regiment's various maneuvers with which all were well drilled and familiar. Nevertheless, that was not good enough for the Colonel. He would remind the men of their incompetence minutely, until they proved him wrong.

Bright eyed, red cheeked and bushy tailed, his dastardly imperialist mustache bobbing with every bark, Franz Victor was in the most jubilant of moods. At last, there was to be battle against the Kinshra, and he had an entire section of the army under his command. At last, he would be able to prove himself to his cousin, albeit distant cousin, the King. At last, it was to be Franz Victor's moment. Spotting Leo between gasps for breath and the bellowing of orders, the colonel ushered the Lance Corporal forwards.

"Well, speak, won't you! I assume you have something to say, Lance Corporal, why else would you be stood there, rather than at the post to which you were stationed erstwhile. Speak up, I can't hear a damn word you are saying, man! Are you a mouse? Shout, lad, shout!"

"We have received word from the Red Banner company, Lord Colonel, the Kinshra are in full retreat, and erstwhile Edgeville burns before our lines!"

"There'll be nothing erstwhile about Edgeville should I have anything to say about it. Dismissed! Gregory! My boots! Reynald, shift the men, I want our hoofs heading h'onward! We may catch the black guards, yet! Lance Corporal, alert everyone you see, this regiment is to be moving in less than ten!"

It was twelve minutes before the regiment broke camp entirely, though it was one of the first to do so. Within moments, her lines were readied, Franz Victor and his aides to the fore, the standard bearers lofting high the blue, white and gold banners of King, Saradomin and Country. Following shortly behind the Red Banner company, the Viceroy Lancers rode the blue tide into the burning stronghold. They were not a moment too soon, though perhaps a few late. Aiding the fire brigades, the men of the 3rd (Southern) Regiment of Foot led the charge against the flames to secure the town for their King.

Important Kinshra Update
The double doors opened as the lords walked out, the knights gathered waiting to hear who would replace Zarco. As the lords slowly moved to the side of the room, one man stood in the centre, Lord Jacelyn Corbin stood in the centre. The knights whispered to each other, wondering whether he was the right man for the job. He was an effective Lord, but hadn't made waves like many other of the candidates. The new Baron however stood there proud and gave a speech.

"Knight's of the Kinshra, today marks the beginning of a new era, Zarco and his era of slothfulness and incompetence has ended. Now is the time for action, for great deeds. Throughout its history the knights Kinshra have been feared by its enemies as a force to be reckoned with. Under Zarco that changed, and we became mewling kittens. Yet now once again we shall rise from the ashes of our defeat and claim victory in Zamoraks name! Some of you I hope, know full well that I do not suffer antagonism from within or without. I'm sure those in the garrison know that especially. I intend to be no less firm with our enemies. The Grey's seek to destroy us? Let them try! Let the fools break upon our walls and fortifications like waves on a Cliffside. We will not yield to the enemy and we will not show weakness. The glories of the knights Kinshra will live on oncemore. We will decimate the enemy and our survivors shall run home to their mothers with tales of their utter defeat. We will be victorious! Heil Kinshra!"

As he finished a celebration was held in his honour morale was back to its heights, though there were some who remained wary. Lord Samael with his experience was considered favourite, it seemed recent events and Zarco's reputation had lead to many Lords wanting a more likeable and stable Baron. In any case nothing could be done, the Baron was chosen. And the Kinshra had a war to win.

Heil Corbin! Heil Kinshra!

Pssst. Hektor is played by me.

I'll also add Sir Valerius Aphelion back in.

Siberys - Valerius Aphelion - Knight - Human

Edit: Also, the speech needs a few changes. Namely correcting "our mothers" to " their mothers." :P
