A letter and a sack of silver arrived this morning, brought by a pair of couriers. The handwriting was thick and deep, as if the one who wrote the letter had either a bad temper, or poor self control.

"Allow me to be frank. In this day and age, everything is overcomplicated. Army this, politics that. Have you ever wondered what the world would be like if rulers, in lieu of debates and war, simply decided the fate of each conflict via trial by champion? I know I have, and so I ask you; why the hell not?

"I know what you're asking yourself right now. How foolish, to stake everything on what amounts to gambling. It's too spontaneous, too outrageous. Ah, but honorable sovereign, have you no faith in your greatest combatants? It is no gamble if you know the true depth of the skill of your warriors, and of course, a kingdom is only as good as those who fight for it. I know also what you're thinking now. What have you to gain from such a thing?

Your champion fights to the death with our champion (ours is entirely human, we assure you) at a location to be agreed upon, and to the victor goes everything. Yes, everything . The loyal Kandar army had been waiting for this moment. Khazard was livid; it had been since it was made the station of large numbers of Kandar armsmen. They waited patiently for this moment.. Much preparation had taken place throughout the stagnant months, and it was about to be put to the test. Their might was unchallenged until the recent era. Victory was theirs to reclaim, as was their homeland capitol.

The wait was over. They continued their march. The climactic point in the stories of all Kandars was nearing. Smaller settlements were left untouched; the path to Ardougne was nearing. The battles destined to unfold would have consequences; the former might of the Kingdom had not been seen for some time. Would they be successful in their conquest, or be beaten down by a now superior force..?

As the Wintumber season sets in, the markets flourish with wares from all over, and product from the harvest. Socialize, buy new trinkets, or a loaf of bread - even, a new toy.
