Hello everyone, I've been walking around World 42 every now and again but I never find anyone to roleplay with. I go to all the suggested locations, but I never see anyone. I really prefer spontaneous roleplay, but I finally had to crack and ask on the forums.

I'm coming from a hardcore roleplay mod in the Mount & Blade community, so I'm looking for anything from Barpee to kingdoms and courts. Also kind of interested in magic RP since I haven't done that before.

Hey, Ser Boog, welcome to RSRP. W42 has significantly reduced in recent years, and roleplaying tends to be concentrated to very specific areas, though we have always been a niche of sorts, given the flexibility of our lore and canon in comparison to other games. I have played Mount and Blade before, though I have not played extensively online. I can speak to kingdoms and courts; there are a couple roleplaying groups you could consider here such as the Kingdoms of Asgarnia & Misthalin , the Kingdom of Ardougne , and the Principality of Burthorpe . You can check these options out in the links provided.

The best and most viable option for magic RP however is the Wizards' Tower ; I definitely recommend checking it out and seeing where you might fit in the group, and of course if you have any questions, please feel free to ask. My availability in game is limited, though I am free on Fridays and Saturdays every week. Hi, I'm Dan.

Hello there

Spontaneous RP has long been on the decline but I thought you might be interested in our efforts to revive it within the Zamorakian Empire. Based primarily in the Wilds of Forinthry (with considerable landscaling for obvious reasons) we hope to build a RP that represents a diverse multitude of different tribes and factions all acting within the framework of the Empire. Our current hub is Rellekka where you will find me on several days of the week, ready to RP.

It should be noted that the Empire is also a serious center for magical RP, led as it is by one of W42's foremost mages and willing to dabble in areas that the Wizard's Tower is not.

The list stated above by the others is a few good option for role-play. Of course they are active enough to probably fill your boredom. Of course those are player owned kingdom and organization, where there's also a tons of twists in story telling.

If you're looking for spontaneous, my group: The Quest Collective can also provide that, the group does a bi-weekly special plot driven event for all members to be part of, if they can. The group's theme revolves around being an adventurer/quest goer who can pick up a quest when ever you can/want (given when you only have free time.) You're able to do these quest alone, or with a companion.

You can look into the groups' thread for more information to see which of our group fits your style. You can join one, or all of them. If you have any question on my group, feel free to ask me in-game, I am usually on all day, if not during the evening of EST.

I would offer my advice, for the sake of you not being dragged into any of W42's infamous rifts and dramas.

Make sure before you join a group, try to get a view of the group based on other people, from the various above and so forth. so, step one is to get an overview of what's going on. Take your time.

Go for the one that has had the least amount of drama and doesn't tend to at all. Trust me you'll save a lot of time and less time stressed out by drama by doing this.

These groups may tend to be less active, usually with an event or two a week, but remember that, the quality of roleplay can occur over a long time or with only a few people. Don't think big equates to quality and quantity.

Enough of my babbling, take heed of my call, stay informed and more importantly, especially in times such as these, stay healthy and safe.

And try not to be put off by the dire warnings from our apparent "representative" :P . I'm sure you can handle yourself in whatever group you see fit to join.

Just a small note: In my experience it is best not to assume that lack of size or lack of RP quantity automatically equates to quality RP (and visa versa). Quality (in my opinion) is about the nuanced approach taken to story telling, regardless of other factors. "The greatest endeavors are achieved because of their selfless intent"

Do not jape with me, sir. I simply offer my experiences and observations up as advice for those whom are unaware of the roleplay community as it stands. The landscape of it is not as simple as one would think. I am not intent on scaring those curious away, as you may believe; you are quite incorrect there. But I put emphasis on the fact that the community is more complex and nuanced in its ooc social structure which shapes the way people seem to interact with each other.

You are correct I suppose at least in terms of lack of quantity equating to quality roleplay, perhaps that was an over-exaggeration, but from my past experiences, the best roleplay I've had is with only a small handful of people, usually less than a half-dozen at a given time.
