It was a small hamlet, perhaps containing fifty people at the most. Yet, by Forinthric standards, it was large. Settlements did not tend to grow above a hundred souls in these barren fields of smoke and ash. As with many citizens, if they could be called such, of Forinthry, the population here was pious. Their lives and souls were devoted to Lord Zamorak, and of course, their King Pyro. By the road, perhaps half the hamlets population stood, clad in their makeshift garb of leather and iron, and wielding weapons of similar quality. They prepared to march, and reinforce their Great Lord's forces at the Goblin Village, to squelch the green creatures beneath their boots. That was, until a messenger appeared.

"The battle, nay, the war is lost! The goblins have pushed us to the Dark Warrior's Fortress!" Shouted the messenger from atop his stead. "We believe our Lord to be dead! It's all over!"

"But- what about-"

"Dead. The fortress has fallen. It's over. Everything's over."

Within days, the Kingdom of Forinthry, already barely held together under the stress of its sparse administration and constant scourges wrought about by difficult (and cursed) geography, collapsed. Tribes of Wildernessmen went their separate ways, and any semblance of national unity dissolved.

Yet, there was hope for the largest kingdom of Zamorakian influence. Hope that stirred in the dead north, where one of the many tribes of the Wilderness stirred and grew restless. Time would tell if this hope was ill placed, or a true spark that would lead into a roaring fire.

Hey, hi. 'Sup. So, most of you know or (I hope) remember me as Drak. I'm still Drak, that hasn't changed.

Forinthry is a really interesting place to me, a vast wasteland rich with resources and danger, and so, I figured it would be a place that could harbour a nice roleplay dynamic. So, let me frame what I want to get out of this roleplay. Probably in the next post, though. The intro took a lot of space. The King of Egypt herself.

~Premise and Outline~

The region of Forinthry is a land that is desolate, and plagued by undead, demons, horrid monsters and swarms of bandit and warband tribes. Farming is next to impossible for, despite the rich ash in the soil, farming is made nearly impossible by thick clouds that spew from Forinthry's two great volcanoes, larger than Karamja could ever hope to boast. Forinthry is a cursed land indeed, and its many societies have evolved to accommodate it, for the land is untameable. Here, man does not dominate nature. Instead, what sick perversion of nature exists dominates man.

So then, what is this roleplay all about?

* 'PvE' War and Combat - Let's face it. War roleplay is fun. Like, really fun. Yet, with war comes the most unfun part of roleplay, having war declared on you. This roleplay hopes to alleviate this problem by pitting different Wilderness tribes against one another.
The 'main' tribe will have most named characters within it, and find itself in conflict with 'npc' tribes manned by rofl volunteers (or maybe an entirely manned rival group, if you wanna be saucy with it.) in its quest to reforge a shattered kingdom of Forinthry.

*Character Driven Plots - As previously mentioned, our 'main' tribe will have the majority of major characters in it. Here, I'd love to see people interact with their characters, let them grow. The tribe's story is important, yes, but so are the stories of each of its members!

* Politics and Intrigue - Tribal politics is a fickle thing. Alliances, rivalries, and hostages, there's a lot of moving parts involved. Espeically when outside powers try to extert their influence in the northern lands. Navigating this web of intricacies is a difficult task, which requires the most skilled of diplomats, or spies.

* Kingdom Building - Forinthry is not Uruk. There is no fine brickwork to behold. As the tribe expands, it will develop the land it controls. The King of Egypt herself.

~IC and OOC Rules~

OOC Rules

I expect anyone who's reading this to be fairly versed in w42 roleplay etiquette, but I'll go over some OOC rules just in case. Plus I have some stuff I wanna add anywyay.

I. Obviously, no Powergaming, Godmodding, Metagaming, etc etc. Your standard stuff.

II. You can use characters from outside of Forinthry in this roleplay. The tribe associates with whoever takes interest in it. They're not picky about their company. Just, make sure you don't join solely to kill roleplay.

III. Your tribe characters can be used outside of Forinthry rp. After all, it's not like the tribe can really stop them from wandering off.

IV. When it comes to inter tribal war, I may ask you to play an npc, soley so that people have other people to fight. You can always volunteer too, so it's not like this is a prison sentence. I'll try to make sure people get equal time playing their main characters, and as npc's. If you favour one over the other, let me know!

V. Have fun. Yes. This is mandatory.

IC Rules

An old standing stone stood outside of the tribe's camp, upon it, was etched a few words.

"Do not kill other tribesmen."

It seemed whoever was charged with writing the rest of the laws of the tribe had gotten bored and left. The King of Egypt herself.

Food and Water
Resources are scarce in Forinthry. The tribe requires sustinence. Folk have offered supplies in exchange of gold, but gold is in limited supply. The tribe must act, mine more of the precious metal, or take what they need directly through more unsavoury means. The King of Egypt herself.

~Tribal Castes~

The tribe is disorganized and chaotic, yet even in this chaos lies some order. Castes are mainly used to distinguish different warriors, for in Forinthry, all men and women must know how to fight. They are rough approximations rather than true representations of the types found in the Wilderness. Indeed, many times, a warrior may not fit the description of any of the castes.

Skirmisher - Skirmishers are lightweight and quick on their feet. Usually donning little to no armour, skirmishers prefer to use daggers and shortswords to strike fast, and run away.

Warrior - Relatively speaking, all of the castes of the tribe are lightweight in their armour. The warrior is slightly less so, sometimes donning scraps of leather and iron to protect itself. Shields, longswords, and axes, are a warrior's best friend.

Stalker - Cloaked in dark fabrics, Stalkers are 'masters' of archery. Their use of bows allows them to hunt wild beasts, or unwary travellers, for the tribe's consumption.

Sorcerer - Sorcerers specialize in magic. Earth and fire is most common, but their abilities can range far beyond that. Sorcerers prefer to wear cloaks and hoods, as it makes them stand out from the rest of the tribe.

Necromancer - Necromancers raise the dead and bend it to their will. Here in Forinthry, their talents are beyond useful. Much like regular sorcerers, they prefer to wear hoods and robes. Quite comfy, actually.

Berserker - Chest bare and puffed, berserkers enter the battlefield with axes (or any other weapon in reach) in each hand. Their roars of fury are a sound to be feared on the battlefield. It is said that berserkers sometimes tear their foes apart with their teeth alone.

Other - Forinthry is as varied as it is dangerous. Many fighters, such as those of different races or backgrounds, sometimes do not fit the description of a caste. In this case, they are labeled as an Other. The King of Egypt herself.
