It appeared overnight, the latest act of the strange being identified to the Mirror as “sliske”. This enemy of Saradomin is reportedly aiming to spread war and terror across Gielinor to suit his own twisted sense of humour. Whatever the case at the beginning of this week a giant sword was plunged into the centre of the “Grand Exchange” trading centre in the city of Varrock.
As yet no eyewitness accounts of the event have been found but one side of the sword has been decorated with a makeshift scoreboard that appears to record scores of various divine beings. Attached to the board is a magical artefact of some sort, a mask which is enchanted to inform visitors about what it describes as *sliske’s competition”. Unfortunately all attempts to remove the sword have thus far been unsuccessful, it seems to be fixed in such a way as to prevent mundane attempts to move or destroy it.
I attempted to interview the magical mask attached to the sword but was unable to gain much information from it between its manic laughs and bad puns. From what I have been able to determine, this is indeed a trick by sliske to cause havoc and this attempt has been met with a measure of success, with reports coming in of increased activity from some of the extremist religious factions.

This news comes as a surprise even to the interviewer who witnessed the event, but just two days ago an election was held among the elite of Morytania to decide upon a new ruler. The Mirror has been reliably informed this election comes as a direct result of factions that have been pushing for a unification of the Morytanian citizens. The three candidates for the elect were all vampyres as one might expect and were known as: Hitomi, Ren Draculea and Synivexa.
As one almost might expect this peaceful process did not go smoothly, even at the outset of the event an unknown and seemingly powerful vampyre stepped forward to condemn the election in favour of more traditional values, but public opinion it seemed was against him. The group soon allowed each candidate to explain how they would set about the rule of Morytania. The three vyres all shared largely similar views on how to rule. Ren opened by promising prosperity and an end to the famine. Synivexa spoke next and expanded on these themes in detail also adding that Morytania would become a power “to be feared”. Of the three hitomi spoke least and added little that had not been said by the others.
However despite the fierce debating over the issues that took place in the end the conclusion was an almost unanimous vote for Ren Draculea. The final results were Ren: 6, Synivexa: 3, Hitomi: 2. This would have been one of the shortest rules in history if not for some fortunate luck for the new ruler. The old vyre that has opposed the election at the beginning returned to try and assassinate Ren Draculea in his first minutes of office. The vyre was able to evade the attack but the attacker managed to escape in the confusion.

It is always unfortunate to have to report on attacks that take place, even more so when it occurs in a major human city. It is with sincere regret that the Mirror must report the attack on the Blue Moon Inn in Varrock by four well-armed human criminals which resulted in the destruction of the bar.
The attack began when the gang walked into the bar and under the vague pretence of having some legitimacy attempted to claim on a “debt* the bar owed to them. This was entirely fictitious and the gang was relying more on intimidation to get the money than trickery, their deception easy to see through. Pretending to be fetching some money to pay the thugs the landlord retreated to the backroom and sent one of his employees to fetch the city guards. Unfortunately upon his return the situation had already escalated and ultimately the gang robbed the register before setting fire to the bar.
These men are described as being late 20*s to early 30’s and heavily armed. Despite these scant details the Mirror urges all citizens to be on their guard, and to watch out for the scam these men attempted to pull. In more positive news the Blue Moon Inn is rebuilding and hoping to reopen within the month.
