The Gielinor Globe is proud to report this race as it unfolds. Three thousand racers wait in Menaphos, as excitement begins to boil.

We spoke to some of the frontrunners, to share those the Globe predicts will be important to the race as it unfolds.

First, we have Thekon Minespine. His Model D device has gathered plenty of attention, as he took it from Falador to Sarim, before chartering a boat to Menaphos. “The ladies love my Model D,” says Minespine. The older dwarf is a skilled inventor, having found a way to turn Dwarven firecoal into a source of power for his automatic carriage.

Next, we have the experienced racer Diana Di’Oriana, hailing from Morytanian birth. This racer has a well-bred Stallion, named Sekai. “I, Dia, call it Sekai, the Wushanko word for the World. Because I, Dia, will not just travel the world. I, Dia, will take it for a ride.” Dia Di’Oriana is of Renderra heritage, through her mother Lerepia Renderra. She often shortens her name to DIADIO.

We cannot forget Salpip Hazelgnock. This gnomish rider is mounted on his terrorbird, a fastfooted creature he calls Fleetwood. “I served in the Khazardian war as a scout. Now Fleetwood and I deliver affordable food at a wonderful speed.” We expect Salpip will be a difficult racer to tackle throughout the race.

Finally, we have Faaiza Abdul’Qadir. An older rider, and an experienced mage. She rides her Ugthanki, Rio. It’s expected she will excel early on with the rough, desert climates. “I have no strategy beyond survival. This race is bound to test the limits of what we are capable of.”
