Clan Nightwinter.

The eerie silence, strange for what looks like simple farmland. Following the beaten track towards the shining city you notice an alluding figure blocking your path foward, you hastily turn around into a light mist akin to a cold winter's morning; out approaches another shadow. The way is blocked, only payment may grant you safe passage.
You feel the cold breath of those around you on the back of your neck. The sweat dripping from your forehead. A crisp, cold voice echoes from ahead; "So.. what will it be.. trespasser?". You throw a coin purse to the ground, shaking & sweating. You run as fast as your body will allow to the safety of the Southern Gate Guards, the mist lifts,
the shadows along with it. You made it through this time! But what about the next encounter...?

Clan Elder = Gold Key:

The Clan Elder is the current Leader & Family Head of the Nightwinter's. All within the family must follow their command.

1st Generation Nightwinters = Silver Star:

The 1st Generation of the Nightwinter clan are the blood related family. They are considered the family council and have power to take command of any other Nightwinter of a younger
generation.

2nd Generation Nightwinters = Bronze Star:

The 2nd Generation of the Nightwinter clan are the adopted family members. They have seniority over the clan's guardians and general servants.

Nightwinter Guardians = Three Chevrons:

The Nightwinter Guardians are the personal trained army of the Nightwinter Clan. They handle a variety of conbat situations from protection to escort to all out combat.

Nightwinter Personal Servants = Two Chevrons:

The Personal Servants are the personal servants of a specific Nightwinter family member. They follow all the commands of that one particular Nightwinter but respectfully assist other family members and other servants.

Nightwinter General Servants = One Chevron:

The Servants are the keepers of the Nightwinter Clan and the lowest position available in the family. They follow commands of all Nightwinter Family Members and are treated with decent respect by the clan.

Roleplay Terminology

Greetings. Roleplay has become very popular recently, and a lot of new arrivals seem to struggle with terminology and expected etiquette. If you are considering joining the Farron, please give this a look.

Terminology:
Terminology is abbreviations used to explain Roleplaying processes.

IC - In character. This is used when speaking of something that happens to your character, not your player.
OOC - Out of character. This is the opposite to IC and usually used when speaking of yourself, or your player.
Metagaming - This is information you may have read in a bio' on a thread, and use in game. This is usually an honest mistake, like knowing the name of someone you've not met. Try to remember to think as your character.
Godmodding - This is when using something considered too strong for your character, such as breaking down a solid steel door, causing other characters to blow up or refusing to die.
Autohitting - Autohitting, along with godmodding, is a roleplayer's nightmare. Autohitting is not giving your opponent a chance to defend or block, and, usually, ends up in a death. Dealing with autohitting is hard - some tend to ignore, some argue, and some teach.
Overpowered - Overpowered is sort of a mix of metagaming, godmodding and autohitting. An overpowered character would be someone who could jump a thousand miles, move faster than the speed of light and read minds to know information they shoudn't - Make a balanced character!

Chat Actions:
Actions-> Actions are the most commonly used processes in roleplaying. They are used to show something that Jagex Graphics can not, like throwing a punch, or rolling on the ground. They are represented by hyphons (-)
Thoughts are something a character thinks to himself, and usually only mentions for the amusement of his peers. Thoughts can also be used to help characters with slight "mind-reading abilities" - if you have that, don't take it too far, as stated in metagaming. Thoughts are shown with (~).

Change in surroundings; A change in a surrounding is like a change in the weather - it could suddenly begin to rain. It can also help with an atmosphere - the players around your evil character could suddenly feel full of dread... A change in the surroundings is shown with an asterisk (*).

OOC; OOC is when you wish to state something, possibly an amusing or witty remark, but it does not fit in with your character. To do this, you place parenthesis (( )) around your sentence, and then simply press enter. This is a way to create a conversation without disrupting roleplay flow.

Commorb Chat; Commorb chat is new to Roleplaying. It had first shown prevalence in the Kingdom of South Kandarin clan, where several roleplayers invented it for use in their adventures, to better understand long-distance chat whilst in character. Commorbs can do nothing but show basic facial expression (with which you use actions) or speaking. All things said in commorb are encased in symbols such as these { }.

Lastly, the subject of trolls. The matter is simple - your wonderful, shiny ignore list. A troll is someone who disrupts a roleplay for the immature giggle he gets, whilst he plays with his girly friends.
Trolls will often spam comments, such as "stupid rp" or "noobs". Just ignore them. Report them, if neccessary. Trolls should not be fed.

It's a shame to have such a list, however in dire times there could be a need. I hope never to actually use this, but it is here in that rare event. Players on this list are not to be acknowledge by any member of this RP group. This will be down to the breaking of our personal rules, or the global RP communities rules.
