Do you
really
want to berate me for attempting to prove that I also consider this to be an evolving guide that is communally influenced? Because I'm pretty sure that's what everyone was on about yesterday.
It's tradition to pass it down to a person of choice, and it is
also
tradition for the person of choice to improve the guide based on what the community says and how the community evolves.
I'm going to follow the latter tradition and when the time comes that I won't be able to edit the thread, I'll follow the first tradition as well.
Save yourself.

Lastly, Macho Mystic personally, and has seen others, use hyphens instead of the # key to show long texts spanning multiple lines, and could be added as well.
I can attest to this, as using -- to denote a continued line of text is a method not only I have used for some time, but many other people I know and roleplay with on 42.

in my many years of roleplaying I've never seen someone use # to signify they weren't done typing. Only --

Chiming in, it was once a push to use it when there were a lot of people using short actions compared to longer ones.
So it's more like, calling dibs. If someone uses that sign it's because they have a single long line of text to type and either can't type fast, or are telling someone else "Wall of text inbound."
Because a lot of people around on 42 still type around the same speed and type about the same size actions (over one line) it is a little defunct.
I have stickied this thread as a replacement for the old guide thread.
I hope and trust that this community can be good enough to work with the changes together. On the face of things, it's a small change that has been made. Pettiness and fighting does not well reflect a community that wants to grow.
The decision has been made and isn't going to be unmade. It has my support.
