Ranks and Occupations
Occupations
A pack can not survive without specialization, and so its members are given specific roles for them to carry out.
Howler
- A Howler's purpose is to look for new hunting grounds, and to look for potential meals. Howlers are expected to take on a human appearance while traveling to ensure they are not found out.
Prowler
- Prowlers are those who enter human domains to look for supplies or goods unattainable through normal hunting. Things such as (untorn) clothes, weapons, and meat during an off season are usually a Prowler's target.
Hunter
- The bulk of the pack, Hunters are responsible for bringing down a victim, and doing any fighting necessary to secure a meal. They are the backbone of the pack, and thus, a very honored position.
Speaker
- An invaluable asset, Speakers are those who are taught to mingle with humans who have discovered the pack's true nature, and are responsible for negotiating deals including hunting rights or trade.
Defender
- Defenders watch over the young, old, and sick. They do not seek out prey, but rather, strike down those who venture too far into the heart of a hunting ground.
Ranks
To distinguish between the veterancy and experience of different wolves, all are given a rank or title which they may wear proud. Ranks are shown in descending order from greatest to lowest.
Alpha - The leader of the pack.
Beta - Those who take charge of smaller groups within the pack, report to the Alpha.
Venerable - Veterans of the pack who have proven useful and loyal.
Clawmarked - Those who have seen battle, and distinguished themselves with ability.
Bloodied - Those who have undergone the blooding ceremony.
Whitefur - No longer pups, but have yet to be blooded.
Pup - The young and inexperienced.
The King of Egypt herself.
