This group is carrying on RuneScape Roleplay's most sacred tradition of player-owned-kingdoms yet scaling us back to a time before blacklists and petty rivalries. In this group, you're always welcome. We're not here to tell you how to roleplay or what to accept, we're only hoping that an olive branch can be extended to those who have felt excluded in the past and we're dedicated to redeeming the quality of player-owned cities.

As you've seen on the post above, we've taken some excerpts from in-game books that can be found in the Menaphos Library. Due to the recent divides in our community, (i.e., split canons, trolling, doxxing, you've heard it all) we will not be subjecting ourselves to diplomatic isolation. If there is conflicting canon in any part of the world, we will acknowledge the player-owned-kingdom or lack thereof.

Because we believe that everyone deserves redemption, including our very own, we will be monitoring the behavior of our clan members only to ensure that roleplayers are not trolling or harassing others. We believe, and always have, that this is how we fail to retain new members in the community and have burned many veterans. We also believe that a lack of roleplay, or rather, out-of-character debate, has stagnated activity.

That being said, remember that age and maturity varies broadly. Some members prefer not to engage in roleplay meant for 18+ so be considerate of that preference. Treat each other with respect, but above all else, roleplay .

We'd prefer to recapture the younger years of this community when acceptance could be universal- regardless of character themes, and that interactions are far more favorable. .„¸¸,.·` |

Standard Practice

Standard roleplay rules applied. Unacceptable methods of roleplay are autohitting, power-playing, and god-moding. Please refer to the RuneScape wiki's page on Roleplaying for the traditional definitions. When serving as a game master or dungeon master, power-playing is acceptable according to your plot. Ensure that every member understands that there are bosses or otherwise powerful characters planned for your event.

War has been a traditional theme of player-owned-kingdoms. Attacking the PoK for conquest should come after first engaging with the admins for agreement on date/time. Despite this, we also don't need you to ask permission if you're destroying small infrastructure like the age-old past time of blowing up a bar. Ask if you're confused how that's handled, but it can be summed up like this- help our characters react to their environment by keeping us informed.

Treaty on the establishment of the Elidian Dominion,
and the bonds of amity, common purpose and free commerce
between the Menaphite Empire and the Emirate of Al-Kharid.

Foreword
Hereafter the aforementioned parties (the Menaphite Empire, henceforth known as the Empire; and the Emirate of Al-Kharid, henceforth known as the Emirate) do affirm between each other a deep bond of amity and brotherhood, in recognition of the common patrimony of their peoples, and the common faith between them, in reverence to the gifts of light, as given to us by Tumeken the Lord of All, and life, as seeded within the Great Desert by Elidinis the River Goddess. This friendship between nations, blessed in the example of the apes of Apmeken, is, in our ambitions, to go on in perpetuity, such that this Elidian Dominion may forever guard the Desert from all external concerns.

Article I
Between the Empire and the Emirate there shall exist a confederation, hereafter known as the Elidian Dominion, which shall be mutually recognized as a union of free peoples under the guidance of the Pharaoh and the Emir in their respective territories. This confederation does not take the form of a deeper political union, and no one sovereign may exert sovereignty over another. .„¸¸,.·` |

Article II
Between the Empire and the Emirate there shall exist no tariffs, excise or other means of taxation against the free trading of goods, such that within the Kharidian Desert, there shall be a common market. No legal prejudice may be exercised against goods that originate in the Kharidian Desert by any one sovereignty within it. In the interests of the protection of Kharidian artisans, labour and industry, a common external tariff of 5% will be exerted upon all goods that originate outside of the Kharidian Desert, and each sovereignty may raise further tariffs, excise or other means of taxation upon such external goods at their own determination.

Article III
Between the Empire and the Emirate there shall be a concerted effort to ensure the repatriation and continued sovereign control of significant resources within the borders of the relevant sovereignties, such that the foreign domination of industry within the Kharidian Desert cannot be achieved as it has in eras past.

Article IV
Between the Empire and the Emirate there shall exist a state of mutual assurance, such that the armies of each sovereignty shall be expected to join the proactive and reactive defence of the territory and independence of the other sovereignties. This is not done purely against the intrusion of enemy state parties, but in awareness of the dangers of Amascut the Devourer, and the Heathen Gods whose schemes beyond the desert sands cannot be countenanced and must be considered with gravity and suspicion.

Article V
Between the Empire and the Emirate there shall exist a solemn understanding that, with the consent of the relevant sovereign, military encampments and fortifications may be developed by another of the sovereignties, such that the goal of mutual assurance can be better developed and a common policy of defence pursued across the entire Dominion. .„¸¸,.·` |

Article VI
Between the Empire and the Emirate there shall exist a solemn understanding that an offence against the laws of any particular sovereignty shall be considered an offence against the entire Dominion, and that a responsibility shall be incumbent upon the sovereignties of the Dominion to extradite such criminal persons to the sovereignty where their offence occurred for trial and punishment, according to the wisdom of the Gods.
