It is becoming that time of the year, my friends. Yes, Wintumber is here and we all know this by just the weather. People are dancing in the streets, making snow Icyene, and of course making snowmen. The smell of freshly cut evergreen lingers around the city, as fathers are bringing their families trees to celebrate Wintumberfest.

I was able to stop a citizen in Yanille, who was watching her children play in the snow. I asked her what did Wintumberfest mean to her and she looked at me with a smile so filled with love and said, “Wintumberfest is a time to gather around the fireplace with your family and talk about anything. We talk about our hopes and dreams and it’s just a time to forget about all of our problems, whether they be money, housing, or even schooling for our children, it is the time of year to put it all behind us and just have a good time.”

I was very grateful to get to talk to such a wonderful woman and I do wish her kids the best. So, Gielinor, take a minute to stop and think just what Wintumberfest means to you. Stop working so hard and just love the people around you.
