True Prayer

So, I love to roleplay! However, I'm not really able to type all the appropriate ~~~ symbols ~~~ to define what I'm saying. So I don't prefer roleplaying that way, and I find it difficult to find people who match my idea of roleplaying.

Some days I have an amazing RP experience, and others... it's like why am I even here!
One specific day, I was at my "pretend house" in falidor, and someone comes to the door and says "knock", and I opened the door and said "come in". The individual explained to me that he was in the war, and that he had not had a hot meal in over 3 years, the story went so into depth, I literally BECAME! My character. I felt sorry for the man, and we sat and talked for hours, about the struggles that he had faced during the war.... NOW THAT IS ROLEPLAY!!



My roleplaying style... I just pretend I'm a single young woman who keeps to myself. On the other end I am significantly concerned for others emotional well being... so I pray a lot! "note the name". simple as that.


I mainly stay in my friends chat "True Prayer", and stay on non member RP worlds, your more then welcome to join if you want. But I just want some feedback on your experiences with Roleplaying!

I'm not an active roleplayer anymore. However, I used to be on RuneScape for a very long time. Then, I moved to Star Wars: The Old Republic and played there instead. After I did, I realised that using symbols to define properties of speech - such as '>> <<' for whispering - is a lot less common across in-game roleplay than I thought. That is, SWTOR didn't use any symbols and, as far as I can recall, neither did Guild Wars during my short experience there.

If I were you, I wouldn't bother with any of the symbols. Personally, after migrating, I came to prefer that style. From what I can tell, the use of symbols in RolePlay on RuneScape is beginning to, or has, died out. If you're not good at using them, don't. Opt to, instead, describe the way your character is talking. Eg. 'Thomas whispered so quietly he himself struggled to hear his words. "Margret, are you there?"' #TeamDaenerys
