If it were possible to mass contact this forum's more regular mods in-game then I would do so. Unfortunately, it is not. As such, attempting communication via the forums is the most efficient method of communication. Until in-game mail is implemented and we are capable of off-line back and forth communication, then we're going to have to resort to the forums.
Which is why our community uses them so much. I'd say that we're one of the more forum-active communities that RS has simply due to the fact that many of us are in different time-zones.
As we are not a part of a mega-guild with a singular website, we lack a more efficient method of communication.
And, as a long-time veteran of the community and regular user of the forums, I must admit that it irks me when people make troll threads. But those are locked -- no trouble. Thus, my second pet peeve is a problem caused by our forum rules being incredibly out-dated. This simple fact has caused friction between members of our community and the forum moderation team for years.
On one hand, in the rules, storyesque threads are tolerated. In the following point of our forum rules, they are discouraged due to the supposed 'biography' threads. Few, if any of these, have ever existed in our forums. The reason for that is simple: it's hard to update a bio with recent information when you are limited by posts. As such, people only ever have very short character bios in their clan threads (and they are usually only posted for application purposes).
The FAQ happens to be dated as well and doesn't address some of the more pertinent questions relevant to our community.
I am going to break your arm so that the bone juts out and then I will stab you to death with your own insides. I will win this chess game, is what I am saying.
