In order to better organize and run the vast kingdom of Forinthry the Union decided to split up the kingdom into several distinct regions. Each region would then be designated a primary Union base from which it would be governed. Most regions possess more than one actual Union base but the function of the primary base is to be the administration center for the region and be the last place of defense should the region be threatened. A Primary region base will generally have had a function before being re-tasked and will retain this function, the regions are often (but not always) defined by the original function of it's main base.
All regions are free to be occupied by other factions although there may be different levels of risk dependent on the region selected. Other factions are also free to register as nomads and travel freely throughout the realm.

This region, sometimes referred to as the "North Region" is controlled by the main citadel of Zamorak's Union, a gigantic fortress named Fort Pyro. Fort Pyro is built in the rough shape of a Zamorakian symbol pointing south if viewed from above. The two main "arms" of the fortress are represented by large walls that curve round protecting the main keep, where the two walls get close, three gates have been raised in succession baring passage to the inner keep. The main keep itself forms the point of the symbol, here is where the whole realm is ruled from, the Royal Family live and the Z.I.I. are said to be based. Behind the keep itself stretches out the sprawling mass of the largest of the Union docks.
This region covers everything north of the FTP area of the wilderness and extends slightly further south to the edges of the lava maze. Bases in the region include Fort Crow, built on an island just off the coast, two sizable mining operations and a large outpost just west of the rogues castle. Patrols are frequent in this region as it contains the administrative center for the entire kingdom.

The West Region is among the smallest of all the regions and has one of the least favorable reputations. It is controlled by Fort Blean, named after Draka Blean a famous Union mage who helped found the organisation. Fort Blean's primary function is weapons development and research. A small fortress in comparison to most it is built directly over the north west teleport obelisk which is a subject of great study. Pressed up against the mountains on two sides it's defenses are focused on the two remaining directions of attack. In order to secure its position a deep gorge was dug two surround the remaining two sides leaving access only available via the two large bridges that span the gorge.
The west region extends as far south as the western ruins which have been built up to serve as one of the Union's production centers, while fairly minor this base makes small arms for the union, due to occupation in the south however it remains constantly under threat as the Union's biggest weak spot. Other bases include another mining base, a small logging facility and a stone masons facility that makes use of the nearby mountains as a source of resources. Most resources gathered from this region are shipped either to the production facility or to the primary base to be shipped off via obelisk teleport.
The West region has been gifted to the Trinium Order - An institute of magical research

One of the best thought of regions in the realm the central region is officially ruled over by the training camp base known as Fort Fury which is responsible for training new troops for the Zamorakian army. In practice however responsibility for running this area is shared between the disinterested training camp and the influential lords who run the nearby estates. The Estates is one of the few areas still fertile enough for growing crops and as such land here is heavily sought after. Lord Bane allowed his richest and most influential nobles to settle themselves here making the region serve as more of a political center for the realm than the often isolated Union HQ. Despite the training camp officially ruling the region, the crown is normally expected to place the current Head of Foreign Policy in charge of this region.
The central region extends from the grassy region near the lava maze, covers the wilderness volcano and stretches as far south as the wall. The only other bases there apart from the training camp and estates is the largest of the union logging camps and the water collection point at the northern most point of the River Lum.

The richest region in the kingdom, the east region receives vast amount of trade wealth from the Union's main island colonies because it's port is far quicker the reach for colony ships than the one at the Union - HQ. In addition to this the area contains the largest of the Zamorak's Union factories, which were built at the eastern ruins and are used to build the Union artillery as well as plenty of more everyday metalwork for sale to the Union's trade partners. This region is ruled over by the eastern port and is normally commanded by the current Master of Coin.
The east region extends from the members wall to the eastern ruins and form the edge of the wilderness volcano to the sea. There are no other major Union bases within this region.

This region remains somewhat under dispute with the survivors of the old Worshipers of the Dragonkin but also contains one of the holiest sites in the kingdom, the chaos alter. To ensure the protection of this site five strong outposts have been raised at equidistant positions around the site and patrols by the drones are almost constant. As the location of the holiest site in the kingdom this region is given over to the command of the High Priest.
This region begins at the graveyard of shadows and runs south all the way to the wall and east all the way to the sea. There are no other major Union bases in this region.

This region is currently occupied by the Chosen Battalion, the dark warrior fortress was the primary base for the region until it was captured. There are no other bases in the region but it is believed the Union left behind couple of resource caches when they evacuated that haven't been found yet. Standing orders are to avoid conflict with the battalion unless they attempt to leave the region and allow them to use the area to send reinforcements from the mountains into the goblin village.

After the Chosen Battalion captured the South - West Region the original Wardens of Forinthry, a group set up to protect the southern kingdoms from the horrors of the Wilderness accepted that they couldn't maintain their position any longer and abandoned the wall of castles they had built to keep the Wilderness at bay. The Union moved in swiftly after to lay claim to all the abandoned castles and now uses them to defend their kingdom against any and all invaders. This region is given to the Lord Protector to serve as the first line of defense for the realm, the Chosen Battalion is currently the only proper military force that won't be stopped at the wall.
