What's a movie cliche that just drives u up the wall? Personally it's how the "prophecies" end up coming true because the bad guy is the cause of them because they get told by someone that x will be the cause of ur downfall because of y so the bad guy wipes out the whole planet/species/clan etc but one always survives and comes back for revenge

so if the bad guy just ignores the warning would the prophecy still come true or not?

"Rough Diamond" cops/detectives/P.I.s.

They don't play by the rules, usually have a drink problem (everyone in movies drinks whisky, all the time). but they have a heart of gold.

Their boss will always halve the time they need to crack a case:
"Give me 48 hours and I can do this!"
"You've got 24!"

They're usually divorced but manage to redeem themselves by the end of the movie.
Who's the cat that won't cop out when there's danger all about?

Stupidity in horror films:

"I'll just go check what that noise was in the cellar... I won't bother taking a torch or switching the light on".

"Let's all go stay in the creepy cabin in the woods, what could possibly go wrong?"

That's a good one :D
Another chase one - when someone is running away from a villain, the bad guy always shouts "Come back" or "come here".
Just one I'd like to see whoever is being chased say "yeah ok then" :P

For some reason, horror films seem to have the most clichés.

At the end where the hero has slain the bad guy/monster, it won't actually be dead and will suddenly revive meaning they have to kill it again.

It might have been the original Halloween that started this trend.
