Brace, brace. At 3pm today — even if you are at the cinema, having an afternoon nap or overtaking in the fast lane of the M1 — your mobile phone will vibrate and emit a very loud alarm to test a new public alert system.
It will last about ten seconds, be “no more prominent than the loudest ringtone setting on a mobile phone”, and is intended to warn the public if there is a danger to life in their area, such as flooding. The message will be received by every mobile with 4G and 5G.
Did your phone go off? Mine did but quite a few didn't.

I actually did not receive any alert on my IPhone. I’m guessing it didn’t happen to every user.

I believe Three had some issues, which might explain why you didn't get the alert.
Glad to be of service
