I don't have a fav artist as I've only used 2 for my 8 tattoos.
I did like a guy on TV but sadly he died not too long ago. Yoji Harada was a good guy. Just a shame he died so young. He had promise for the future.

Oh yeah, I got tattooed on the 17th and forgot to share.
It's not finished, we just did the blackwork. Still another session to go on it. I have another session booked for July 1st where we'll either finish this piece along with my Darkseid piece if it's healed, or we'll just start another part of my sleeve.
I'll show the stencil/photo my artist drew up, along with a photo of the piece
It's Batman, along with a comic strip from Final Crisis where Batman is shooting at Darkseid.

Here's the piece on me, I thought it looked cool with a black and white filter since it's a bit hard to make out the details without the colour.
Here's the piece without any filters. I really can't wait to fill in the colour and do the background!! (it's kinda blurry lol)

With how it's healing right now, I don't think I'll be ready to fill in the colour in 2 weeks, but I'll share whatever my next piece is! Cooking up some ideas right now, maybe Swamp Thing or Superman.
When I came up with the idea of the sleeve, I wanted to do a bunch of comic strips, but then when it came to the time to get a piece done, I totally forgot what I had in mind, which is why I was like, ah, yes, lets put a mini strip in there, lol. Kinda continues the main idea I had.
Changing the smiley was a last minute decision while my artist was finishing up the stencil
I think it had to do with how I have another yellow circle on virtually the same spot on my other arm. I didn't want symmetry
I wish I had a better explanation LOL. Even my artist was like "whatever you say, bro".
Funny story, my tattoo artist is one of my childhood friends who I had lost contact with after he moved when he was 10 or 11.
I ended up going to the tattoo shop that I had gotten piercings at and liked his work. Not knowing who I was, I booked an appointment with him.
Once we started doing my work, we'd talk a bunch, and he'd tell me stories about his aunt and his cousins, and how he'd go play "radio bingo" with them every Friday, along with their neighbors son. He mentioned how he'd make bike ramps in alley-ways and everyone would always get injured.. etc. I was like damn, this sounds really familiar. Almost as if he's repeating my childhood.
On my 3rd session, I went into the shop, and he was like "I KNOW YOU!" I was just like "yeah man, I know you too, you tattoo me." He replied "Nah dude, I know you, you're BEANDIP!"
Beandip was a nickname I went by when I was in elementary school. For him to know that, he had to have known me as a child. I was the neighbours son who he played bingo with, and made bike ramps with.
Turns out that he went by a different name, and both of our appearances had drastically changed.
Now we're super close again.
