What a little star, he`s a beauty. Expect he gets really noisy at times. A friend of mine has several and they get so loud sometimes the neighbours complain, miserable sods.
They do shut up though when she puts a blanket over the cage.

I once saw that hilarious clip of a parrot/parakeet, not sure which running up and down a corridor shrieking gibberish, that was really funny

Billy and Alfie are both around 18 years old. Billy should live 35 years-ish. Alfie around 70 years.

They both whistle and talk.

Alfie sings Happy Birthday. Just hard to get him on video.

Billy says well over 300 words as does Alfie. They often talk to each other and tease my dog telling her to Sit and get on her chair lol. She does it too which is funny.

That's really funny. What would they do if you let them out of their cages?

It still freaks me out slightly that birds can talk

Same kinda lol. Imagine a bird threatening to kill someone or something.
I wonder if you could train a bird to guard your home from intruders.
Like a burglar breaks in and your parrot's just in a dark room and says "I have a gun"

We kept a budgie and a cat as pets when I was growing up. The budgie would walk along the floor towards the cat who would back away. The budgie was allowed to stay out of her cage all day and she was only put in it at night so she couldn't hurt herself in the dark.

When I got my own home after getting married we had cats as pets. Our last cat survived until she was over 17 despite having health problems for many years. She hated other cats so we didn't put her in a cattery when we went on holiday because it would have stressed her too much. I always worried when we went away in case something happened to her and our friends had to take her to the vet so we never went for longer than a week. She definitely thought she ruled the house. I'd often be playing RS with her on my lap, she would rub her head on my hands as I typed and "demand" I paid her attention. :)
We haven't had a pet since she died because we started to travel more although not for the last 9 months thanks to the pandemic. :(
