Yep a decent result but I thought United dropped off a bit in the second half.
I think we really missed Antony but Rashford is transformed recently, he looks like he's really enjoying himself... it looks like he's been practising headers ;)

I've got a good felling about this season (after a really shaky start!).

I think we can finish in the top 4 this year.

Lets face it. You want to win it outright.

Well, yes that would be awesome, but unlikely. United are still in the process of rebuilding at the moment, but definitely going in the right direction.

There's some Champions League action tonight, with eight games including Liverpool vs Napoli (a win for Liverpool probably) and Spurs taking on Marseille.

As pure neutral in this. I mean I'm a Bolton fan so not exactly footballing excellence. It feels like United have been in a rebuild for years. I watched an interesting documentary the other day about how City, Arsenal and Liverpool essentially set the footballing philosophy out. Player type, ages, etc etc and brought the managers in around that. Surely United need that now? You went from Moyes (defensively minded), LVG (defensively minded), Jose (yet more defense), Ole (All out attack all the time) to Ten Haag who's a bit more balanced. But all quite radically different, all bar the last two not very Manchester United. Guthix be, I'm old.

You're right of course, all the changes in managing style and so many managers in a relatively short time can only be detrimental.

It feels to me (and a lot of other supporters from what I can gather) that ten Hag is the first in years to actually have a concrete plan and, more importantly, a plan that suits United.

He's also been given free rein to bring in players that he knows, having managed them before and isn't afraid to shake things up.

Over the last few months I've seen him make tactical decisions that made me thing "what are you doing?!... and then those tactics have worked.

In addition to the new blood he's brought in, he seems to have a knack for getting the best out of people who had almost been written off.

Rashford and Martial both looked unenthusiastic and miserable for long spells but are now back on form. Rashford in particular seems to be flourishing under ten Hag. It's great to see.

1-0 for United last night, a decent win and the only team to beat Sociedad... but it means that we have to go to the playoff stage where we could face some tough opposition.

12 hours without conceded a goal from open play as well, quite the difference from the first few matches of the season ...

Martinez got an incorrect yellow card which see him suspended for the next europa league game though, which isn't exactly ideal.

Fernandes out for the weekend game with yellow card suspension too, which will be a significant downgrade if neither of Martial, Sancho or Antony are returning from injury to feature in the front line.
Rashford/ Garnacho on the left, Ronaldo upfront and maybe.. Elanga? on the right. Would perhaps have to push Eriksen into Fernandes' position and put Fred or McTominay in midfield with Casemiro.

Indeed, we had a shocker of a start but making steady progress now.

Yep that's a big loss, Martinez has been absolutely solid, great signing.

That all sounds very feasible, I'm really interested to see how Martial performs on his return, he's been patchy for the last couple of years but seems to be doing well under ten Hag.
