I enjoy Desperados, tequilla and beer it is a drink for the gods!
Most of the time though when i'm just chilling with freinds, Carling, Fosters , Budweiser, even Stella Artois ;O
ooo, this thread has gotten a lot of posts since I last posted here on page 30.
Gulden Draak ftw. None of my friends liked it tho :/
anyone here had ever got a bottle of it? It's only, like, seven bucks for a little bottle of it. Not everyone can handle dark triple ale though. it's funny cause I have friends who can chug smirnoff (I can't handle that stuff) but they can't get far in 10.5% beer. Crazy world.
Your taste in beer is much different than mine.
I think it's because those extremely dark beers have a taste that put a lot of people off and while hard liquor doesn't have the greatest taste, it takes less to achieve the effects they are probably looking for. They just put up with it long enough to achieve the feeling they want.
I haven't heard of Carling, Fosters or Stella Artois. I assume they are great though.
You would assume incorrectly.
All three are pretty bland lagers - Stella is the only one that can even claim to have a taste or edge to it. The nicest thing I can say about the other two is that they are... drinkable. With Carling, even that's borderline.
(No offence intended for anyone who likes them, but they are pretty bland - hence why they appeal to so many people and are so readily available in the UK. Good thirst-quenchers in summer, though!)
I'm a fan of stouts and darker, heavier beers in general. Kwak is a personal favourite, if a bit sweet. I used to have a passion for Guinness but that has faded slightly in recent years.
Most recently I have finally learned to appreciate ale, after years of trying. I must be getting old.

To me, stouts are alright. The only stout I can really tolerate is Guinness. It's a shame you have outgrown Guinness.
I'm sure later down the road I will outgrow it as well and move on to darker beers.
