And you never thought algebra would ever come in handy again after school, hehe.
In the High School my brother and I graduated from, students had a choice between the college or business curriculum. We both choose college. I flunked algebra 1, took it again in summer school and past. Next year I had to take algebra 2 and flunked. I went into the business curriculum. After graduation, I went into Nursing (which was my goal before entering high school). Not once did I ever have to use algebra 1 and 2, trigonometry or calculus.
My brother took algebra 1 and 2, trigonometry and calculus (all mandatory to graduate from high school through the college curriculum). He dropped out of college because he had to take a lot of math and science before working on his major, which had nothing to do with higher levels of math and science. He went into the Navy, drove a submarine, did his stint, got out and went into retail. Not once did he have to use all that math he learned in high school nor any of the college math.
