but to answer OP. yes i can music helps a lot.
but overall when i go through tattoos (as i have a lot) i mainly meditate to get through difficult times. and switch off from anything around me. its pretty much only time i can do this. one of reasons i enjoy getting tattooed. as i can just concentrate on that and everything else goes.
How tf do you meditate?
easiest way to just concentrate on breathing. and do it slowly. thats easiest way to get into it. obviously dont start it while getting tattooed that wont work. its just concentrating on yourself and your own body. so whats going on around you just pretty much fizzles away. i started doing it before getting tattooed. then used it while getting tattooed on some tricky places. and now 10 years later, meditating during tattoos is when its at its best.
Oh, I do something similar when I can't sleep. Didn't know that was meditation, lol. The one of two techniques I use is tensing up each body part and then relaxing it while focusing on my breathing. I start with my toes and go up.
The other is, idk, imaginative, I suppose. I make up a story in my head and get lost in it. Sometimes if it is a rough patch, I add on to the story each night.
I suppose there is also trazodone, but it isn't great to take with my other meds...and a bit off topic lmao. And I swear I'm not going to let her know all the pain I have known
