With that special time of year coming up, I always find the most joy in getting those I love gifts, in addition to enjoying their company, of course. This year I'm lucky enough to have a good paying job for the first time in my entire life, and as such I've the opportunity to absolutely spoil my 2 good friends, and a few members of my family.

I make this thread to inquire as to what gifts you've gotten or are planning to get for the special people in your life. Tell us why, the reason is often more important than the gift itself.

Let the xmas hype begin, friends.

Well I'm getting my mum a smart phone because she has always had a phone with physical buttons that cant go online as such, as opposed to a touch screen. Her tablet stopped working recently, and wont be fixed or replaced for a few weeks. She hasn't been able to go online and stay in touch with family and friends.

I'm getting my brother wireless headphones because he recently purchased a tablet and likes spending time on YouTube and Facebook.

Both of them have always shied away from technology lol.

Getting my mom new headphones. Getting my friend a $25 Game Card. Mom needs headphones for watching movies and I always get my friends Game Cards for Christmas. The old speakers I gave her might be broken. She asks me for gifts she needs not what she wants. I am getting a few gifts this month, not sure what they are they are a surprise.

I struggle to buy my husband presents because his main hobby is ringing church bells. He's not in to sports, gardening or cars/motor bikes. He doesn't play golf, team games or even computer games. He doesn't even want more clothes because he says he has enough. I've bought him books which he glances through and dvds which he never watches even if he'll watch that programme on TV. He does like single malt whisky ( has to be from Scotland ) but I worry about his liver so I try not to buy it for every birthday/Christmas. I am really
really
stuck. O_o

edit to add: I also struggle getting presents for my sons, they are very similar to my husband.

Because I try out free gifts and leave feedback etc on a certain website. I've been trying out a free Air Fryer for 6+ months and found it to be totally revolutionary in my kitchen. So this year my Sister and Brother are getting the same 1 as me including 1000 recipie cookbook.

I hope they love them as much as I love mine. I use mine several times per week and saving a fortune on electric.

Rest of the family I'm struggling with as I do each year. I have bits and bobs like a 64 million year give or take a day or so old tooth for my Nephew.

I started to Christmas shop way back in June. I dare say I'll be shopping till last day Christmas Eve lol.

Hopefully this thread will give others including Me some great ideas for gifts. Would be fun. Keeping me eye on this thread. :P

I like to look on ebay and find things you cannot buy in the shops. I recently bought a 1996 Bugs Bunny keyring (of him/her weightlifting) for my sister who is into body-building. It didn't cost much and I figure she will appreciate it. Small, thoughtful gifts like that are best.

I second the air fryer, great bit of kit

I'm generally terrible at gifts (both giving and receiving, I don't even know what I want). But this year I plan to try and do something meaningful, even if it's just going to do something with some loved ones.

I second you about having finally having a job that makes good money. I've been fortunate enough to find a good job that I generally enjoy, so I'm glad I'm able to at times spoil people I love.

Again, though, I'm terrible at gift giving/receiving haha.
This is just a placeholder.
