I'll post this up from my thread:
Some sad news emerged this afternoon.
Captain Sir Tom Moore, who rose to fame following his fundraising work for the NHS, has passed away at the age of 100. He initially aimed to raise £1,000 by completing laps of his garden, but did slightly better than that, raising a staggering £32m. His work earned him a knighthood from Her Majesty the Queen, and his open, friendly, and positive attitude truly captured the nation's heart.
While he is perhaps best known for his charitable efforts during the last year of his life, he dedicated his life to supporting his country, having seen combat during the Second World War.
Rest in Peace, Captain Sir Tom Moore. Thank you for a lifetime of service.
"Tomorrow will be a good day."
