Even though this thread is mainly about Execution through Firing Squad you can have conversations on other forms of executions in any part of the world.
I just read one American state is bringing back Execution by Firing Squad, through further reading quite a few states can use this method. I did not realize this still happens in the western part of the world until today.
Knowing the death penalty could be through firing squad do you think people will think twice before doing a crime?
Could using Death by Firing Squad reduce crime rates?

I imagine it's similar to being shot to death.
Yes, I'm sure it would be, except your standing there, mask over your head, a group of people with guns pointing at you - it would be a different head space...
Here in the UK we don't even have the death penalty. That is probably a good thing. Don't know what to think. Either way there is still a lot of crime. West Yorkshire is actually one of the most dangerous places with over 90 crimes per 1000 people.
The last execution in the UK happened on the 13th August 1964. The last crime that lead to the death penalty:

I strictly believe, if you know someone did the crime like no way you were wrong that person murdered someone, they should die in the same manner but extended methods.
Firing squad is too fast for some crimes, for example i know of many murders where the person should have been set on fire and treated ASAP by a doctor to live the pain without pills in prison then burned again on repeat X amount per few months until they die.
^cruel but will make many think twice, reason i hate death penalty in USA, they killed someone with an axe and did it slowly but they got a needle that is painless.....compare that to how the victims died = Not fair.....
For a fail safe tho, have the methods to be sentenced x amount of years later. incase further evidence deems that person the wrong person etc.
Also we require to fix the void in the court system, lawyers can deem certain things un-useable in court as evidence due to the make up of lawyers (defence) <---bad for their career if they lose but with a win/lose that is equal maybe just maybe that can break the "i need to have this person deemed innocent at all costs, idc if he did it or not...." <--sad truth but it taints the legal system with flaws.
IDC how good of a lawyer you are, you can't help a murderer get off charges......"did you find this evidence before or after the warrant was given?.....If before it can't be used as my client didn't have enough time to clean up/hide the evidence...."
Our world is so badly programmed.......$$$ #1 sadly. All that gets fixed i can gladly support death sentences. I need to be sure they 100% did it to deem such an order.
I don't think it matters how you execute a death penalty. Most criminals don't tend to think about the consequences of their crimes, they expect either not to get caught or die in a shootout trying to avoid being captured.
I imagine the stories about people getting lethal injections that didn't quite kill them, but put them through excruciating pain would have a greater discouraging effect.
Personally I don't care how you execute the death penalty, if you committed a crime horrendous enough to warrant a death penalty you deserve no human rights anyway.
The vast majority of criminals do not believe they will be caught for their crime, so the punishment isn't a deterrent.
That being said, I am all for rehabilitation to a certain point. The crime has to be truly over-the-top heinous for me to consider the death penalty.
And I swear I'm not going to let her know all the pain I have known
