I'm trying to gather information for something I'm writing so please write your honest, truthful answer below. Everyone is welcomed to comment, this is for everyone to answer whether Muslim, Agnostic, Atheist, Satanist, Christian, Wiccan, etc.

Share what you think of this Jesus Christ guy we have all heard about, again I say honesty is appreciated and valued.

---- PLEASE REFRAIN FROM DEBATE OR ARGUMENT IF YOU ARE OF A DIFFERENT OPINION THAN SOMEONE ELSE ----

The question - Who is Jesus Christ to you? A prophet, an imaginary guy, some dude who was a lunatic, the Messiah, God incarnate?

I was raised in church and I am very active in church.

Jesus was a brown skinned - middle eastern man - who was the son of God himself, sent to die for us. I do believe that, but I also am saddenned by how much people forget, such as

Jesus was not:

White
American
sent to earth to protect the military.

I live in a very conservative part of my country, and those are strongly held beliefs by fellow church attandants...

Jesus was that guy that came around and fulfilled all the prophesies of the messiah.

He 'did away' with the idea that the Jew's were Gods chosen people, and that all Gentile's could become Gods people if they wished.

Jesus Christ was a very intelligent and charismatic person, but he was a mere mortal like the rest of us.
He was not the son of god, he didn't start anything - Christianity existed long before him, but he helped shape it and sway people's opinion with his exceptional interpersonal skills.

The question - Who is Jesus Christ to you?

a character in a book nothing else that people have taken seriously for reasons i do not understand. interesting story but far from reality

this sums it up well

In Christian theology, Jesus is the son of God, born to the Virgin Mary (just take her word for it). His function in the divine plan was that of the scapegoat, the human sacrifice which allegedly atoned for the very same fall of man which his father had planned all along. Once that necessary step of the scheme had been completed, Jesus became the original zombie (or at least lich) in the process, after which he conjured up a zombie army (Matthew 27:52). The Quran views Jesus as a Muslim, the prophesied Messiah, and the predecessor of Muhammad.

i could go into more detail but this is fine for now. but yes overall just a fictional character thats been taken too seriously.

Thanks for the input everyone :)

@Jamandy I appreciate the input but that's not quite what I was asking lol. Wasn't looking for a physical description.

@Tenebri I mean I've tried to tell you but you only wanted to argue and not accept the answer I tried to give lol unless you do want to know and are willing to accept what you hear it would be a waste of time to try anymore. Thanks for the input by the way, I'll reference what you said (don't worry I won't be mean, only quoting what you said)

My current view (which will change in time I'm sure) is that Jesus was either a magician or a con artist. He could have been a Robin Hood figure of his time, non-profit tricks at first, then it became a full-on business, with churches being built to accept and 'bank' donations, etc. His crew of disciples were likely on his payroll and sent out on marketing campaigns (word of mouth). He probably used fake audience members when performing his tricks / the 'touch to heal' accounts were either made up or staged to add credibility. A lot of things were mysterious back then, they didn't have the science we do today to explain things, so they used their imagination. I think he just said the right things to the right people, at the right time, and eventually his celebrity status got him killed. He rocked the status-quo. Hegemony, power struggle, yada yada yada. Maybe he didn't pay taxes on his earnings? who knows! All this said, I think Christianity has done a lot of good for society as a whole and is pretty benign. Bob says:
